What can a tourist expect to this northern top island of the Philippine archipelago? Well, if you like historic adventure or tracing the roots of Malay people in the Philippines, Batanes Island Philippines is the answer. This island is famous for its Ivatans inhabitants. Ivatans are said be descendant of Malay people who cross through the island of Formosa (now Taiwan) into the Philippine archipelago. Thus, Batanes Island Philippines is called “The Land of The True Insulars”. For the Ivatans who dwell in this island are called “True Insulares”. The word “insulars” means “isolated, deeply private” Which gave us an impression that this people and the Batanes island Philippines itself is indeed a frontier or untouched people and place, respectively, exhibiting a beautiful virgin place. So let us now look the insularity of this island.
The People
Stepping into this island, a Malayo –Polynesian which has kind of resemblance to Japanese and Chinese countenance people will welcome you. These are the so called Ivatan people of Batanes. They are kind of race of people that can only be seen in the Philippines. You can see their naturally crafted beautiful native houses built in stones and dried cogon grass along the roads of Batanes.

Yes, Batanes have green hills where cows roam up it and you also could do quiet meditation up the hills. And up hill see the picturesque landscape of all Batanes Hills.There are trekking activities held in two Batanes Hills,namely the Marlboro Hills and Naidi Hills.
Beaches
One of the best tourist destinations in the Philippines listed by the Department of Tourism is Batanes’ Sabtang Island. This island remains undisturbed and unspoiled with intermittent white sand beach, steep mountains and deep canyons. However, you can visit it for sight-seeking purposes.
Another white sand beach in Batanes is the Di-atay Beach. This beach has multi-colored rocks and beautiful coves.It is best and ideal for picnics and beach combing if you want to visit this beach.
Another white sand beach is the White Beach located at Vatang, Hapnit, and Mavatuy Point.
Mountains and Volcano and Caves
If Batanes have many hills, surely it ha also mountains (or mountain volcanoes) and caves for mountain lovers – Batanes’ Mt. Iraya and Mt. Matarem. Mt. Iraya is a dormant volcano best for mountain climbing,trekking and trailblazing activities,while Mt,Matarem is an extinct volcano.
Not only mountain lovers could enjoy Batanes Mountains and hills but also its famous enchanted cave –the Chawa cave. This cave has salt beds and an open mouth channel leading to South China Sea. Another famous cave is the Nakabuang Cave.

Aside from all what we have mentioned, there is another activity that is worth doing if you are tourist here at Batanes, that is you can do bird watching at Cuyab Batanes. Like in Pampanga Philippines, many migratory birds from China flock into region of Batanes to seek refuge from cold weather from China during winter.
There is also a beautiful white lighthouse tower at Basco Batanes.

Aside from Boracay Philippines which has white sand, another tourist beach destination in the Philippines has been discovered at the province of Surigao Del Norte. Hooray to the Beach seekers and sun-worshippers! A new beach haven has been discovered in the Philippines for you.

This newly discovered small Siargao island (it is just a tear-drop size island) boast of its white sand beaches just like to Boracay Philippines and its waves which a surfer lover could surf. Therefore, come on beach lovers and surfing addicts, let’s pack our bags up and explore this newly discovered Siargao Island Philippines. How do we get there? It is said that it is only 800 kilometers away from Manila, so if you are in Manila try getting an airline ticket to Cebu Philippines, then a trip to Surigao City and then to Siargao Island. Or you could go directly to Surigao city via airlines if you are in Manila if you do not wanted to take two planes on board. However, there are means and ways to get into Siargao Island Philippines either by plane or by sea. So make up your minds whether from Manila to Cebu to Surigao or from Manila to Surigao because we have a lot to discover about its mangrove forest sanctuary and its coconut palms which is said to be dressed in circle around the center of the island. Wow that is a great sight to see and discover and photographed.
However, if it is not your type to see it but rather just wanted to surf all the way of its beautiful said to be “cloud 9” hollow tube wave, then go on and experienced Siargao Island Philippines’ reputation as the “Surfing Capital of the Philippines” and international dubbed as “the world’s best unparallel surfing capital” because of the “cloud 9” break reef wave, and Join its annual Siargao Cup Competition.
.General Luna Siargao Island is the surfing point or place at Siargao Island Philippines at Tuason Point where the world-class Cloud 9 surf break competition is held annually. This International Surfing competition at Siargao Island is held every September of the year where international and local participants participate.
Aside from surfing competitions and surfing enthusiasts and white sand beach we could see at Siargao Island Philippines, there is also a massive coastal coral reefs within the island that we could go see by diving. If you like diving you will enjoy the sights of these massive coral reefs surrounding the Siargao Island Philippines basically at Guyam and Dako Island. As well as at Pansukian were you could see a great number of coral reefs.
After surfing and diving we could go boat tripping all day long or even at night at Sohoton Lagoon where we could witness overhanging jungle cliffs and caves with beautiful stalactites. And since we are on a boat trip we could go pass by the mangrove sanctuary at Del Carmen. Moreover, we could island hopping at Guyam, Daku and Pansukian Island after that.
