Why does sometimes Filipinos reacts as if they are the only race being trodden down by other races in regards to working abroad and create a sympathy that OFWs are modern day Filipino heroes?
Why create a self-pitiful and poor self-image and accept the reality that if their work ethics is wrong, then it is wrong; accept it; why felt insecure?
Lately, the Philippine embassy in Washington D.C. demand public apology from council member of the District of Columbia name Marion Barry for criticizing their local hospitals for hiring Filipino nurses.
According to the report Marion Barry’s statement includes insinuation against Filipino nurses to be not trustworthy in terms of nursing patients and unprofessional in their dealings with patients and suggest that the District of Columbia should hire their own local registered nurses instead rather than hiring foreign nurses.
Barry was firm in his statement that he will not do a public apology for the Filipino nurses for he said what he utter is right and true that Asians just work to meet their American dreams and he just promote patrioticism and nationalism on his own District and his statement was taken out of context.
Here what Council member of the District of Columbia Marion Barry said: ““In fact, it’s so bad, that if you go to the hospital now, you’ll find a number of immigrants who are nurses, particularly from the Philippines. And, no offense, but let’s grow our own nurses, so that we don’t have to be scrounging around in our community clinics and other kinds of places, having to hire people from somewhere else,”
However, in contrast, Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Cuisia, states that Barry’s remarks are “intolerant” and “narrow-minded” and defended the Filipino nurses: “..“Filipino nurses are known to be competent, hardworking, caring, and possess good work ethic. These are some of the reasons why most patients prefer and trust them. Like many good citizens, they pay their taxes and contribute to the American economy..”
However, to my own opinion and experience with registered Filipino nurses, there is some part Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Cuisia’s statement which are not true. Some registered Filipino nurses are sometimes reliant to what they only learn from their courses within the University they have taken their nursing career; and lacks experience and expertise and proficiency.
So, is not only right that Filipino nurses should be criticized? It is the lacking of the Philippine government why registered Filipino nurses abroad were the eye of criticism or were malign from their foreign bosses and even on foreign community offline and online; few only are successful and commended.
Filipino Nurses should take the criticism an opportunity to work hard and be professional than cry “foul!” and lament and resent it like a little child that wears too much self-pity.
Recently, another reported terroristic attacks of the Communists Extremist Groups – the National People’s Army (NPA)- disturbs the innocent people at the three mining companies in the province of Surigao Del Norte Philippines; burning trucks, guesthouses and barge just like what they are doing to cellular sites like Globe and Smart that really disrupts communication through using cell phones. Moreover, they took also hostages into their vans for captives.
Even though they want the poor side of the Philippine community to arise above the wealth of the rich ones in the Philippine through pushing and imposing the ideas of Karl Marx into the Philippine government constitution, they still do not help actually the poor ones by just rebelling too much against the mainstream Philippine government through doing terroristic activities causing many innocent people to suffer unjustly; what a selfish brat they are! If they want to push their own ideas of governance, they should not implicate innocent Filipinos in their resentment and bitterness and hatred toward the mainstream Philippine government. For not all will adhere to their own set of beliefs regarding governance; not all Filipinos will support them in their Communist belief systems they should realized that as a grown adult Filipino, unless they are really selfish brats that displays childish tantrums by destroying public infrastructure like phone sites and now currently raiding public mining companies..What a shame on these childish brats! They thought they are doing what is good? In their dreams. Is it good to destroy all what they are destroying just only to satisfy their egoistic desires of Communist government for the Philippines? If they really care for the poor ones, they should not be doing what they are doing now.
Do they do not have mouth to have peaceful dialogues with the mainstream government to express their own complains and requests or what they have is just a mere destroying demonic hands that destroys everything brutally and mindlessly? Do they think by terrorizing people they could get what they want? They are not thinking wisely actually but rather very impulsively childish in their ways in getting what they want. They are fool then and fooling themselves that by force and arms they could get what they want. Or the peace talks which their respective leaders were involved with to end their communist insurgency avails nothing for why do they still do their said attacks if peace talks have its way to end their insurgencies? Or are they not in favor about what transpires on the peace talk negotiations entered by their respective leaders?
Mysterious Letter from Hong Kong
We would never knew that a letter from Hong Kong was drop on Philippine mailbox if PNoy never revealed it, however he himself have now revealed it and we already knew it though he repent that according to him: “I may have made a mistake when I told you but we have decided that while there are those who want to pick a fight with us, we won’t fight back to prevent the conflict from getting worse”. But, he should not repent that he reveals a letter from Hong Kong that with according to his own words above connotes that the letter is not only insulting but could start a war between the Philippines and the Hong Kong government which of course have utmost important impact to us, we who live on the Philippines. For the letter could be a pending disaster waiting to fall upon the Philippine archipelago. Thus, he should told it to us rather than conceal it. However, though PNoy reveal that they received this kind of letter from the Hong Kong government, he never state in details these content of the letter rather he just give the media people a clue of what it is.

PNoy
But he said that the letter was particularly addressed to him and in a minute detail according to him the letter is commanding the Aquino administration of what they should do about the incident, which perhaps I guess is they want PNoy and all his cabinet to step down in order to bring true justice to what have happened on the bus hostage incident last Aug.23 to clear once and for all the hurt and trauma it brings to the Chinese people, since, it is the Aquino administration who is the real responsible for the fiasco and not any single person is to blame for the fault. For the incident happens within the jurisdiction of the Aquino government, thus, it is indeed the Aquino government is to blame for it.
Though PNoy said they are trying to repair relations to the Hong Kong government, the hurt and the trauma will not be healed by just saying ‘we were sorry for the incident” and blaming only the fiasco to one person. The Aquino administration could never excuse that they are hands-off from what have happened because it is only an insane and blind government will said that knowing that a fiasco happen within the jurisdiction of one’s government.
Therefore, how can the Aquino government repair relations with the Hong Kong government if the Hong Kong government felt disdain and wrath toward the irresponsibleness of the Aquino administration to handle the incident properly knowing that there are foreign lives that are at risk in the incident and not all Filipinos? Is the Hong Kong government felt wrath only to the bus hostage taker Rolando Mendoza? Certainly, the Hong Kong government’s hurt was not only to Rolando Mendoza who is already dead. If the main suspect is already dead or if the main responsible for the incident is already dead, why does the Hong Kong government is still crying for justice for what have happened and demand an unbiased probe for the incident?
What kind of justice the Hong Kong government is demanding just to heal the trauma and the hurt they got from the incident in the Philippines?
The letter that comes from the Hong Kong government could mean war and continual gay between the Philippine government and the Hong Kong government if the Aquino government will not give in to what kind of justice the Hong Kong government demands from Aquino administration, though according to PNoy they will not buy a fight against Hong Kong, but to what they are doing in diverting the full responsibility to a one person or group of person for the incident, whereas it is so obvious that it was the Aquino administration who have the full responsibility for the fiasco, are they not picking a fight then?
Housing Woes in the Philippines
Housing program is basically a never ending problem in the central point of the Philippine archipelago – Metro Manila Philippines. For it is where all class and types of Filipinos conglomerate into a congesting situation due to Manila is the center of commerce and industry wherein most Filipinos thought to gain a lot of opportunities for them to grow and progress financially and materially, thus squatting is rampant throughout Manila though there are spacious lots in their respective provinces wherein they could own it legally than just squatting which end up their houses being demolished because of lack of legal ownership of the lot or real estate their houses were erected.
However, though there are a lot of real estate communities being developed throughout the Philippines, it is inaccessible and can’t afford by a less learned and financially poor and destitute Filipinos, respectively. Yes, the Philippines then and up to present administration is trying and struggling to form an effective government housing program for the poor Filipinos to solve the congesting problem, basically on Metro Manila and to stop the battle between the lot owners and the Filipinos who love to squat on real estate properties they don’t legally own.

Remains of the Demolished Houses
For every year, there is a struggle between the squatters and the house demolition team that demolished squatting houses on the lot of the real estate owner.
The Philippine government has settled some squatters that become homeless due to the demolition process into a government own house resettlement community which was founded and created by the government itself. However, these free housing programs have not yet solved the squatting problems.

Housing Programs
Issue on Private Roads
Not all highways and expressways in the Philippines are owned wholly by the Philippine government just like not all facilities and establishments erected were owned by the Philippine government though these were on the Philippine ground and utilize within the Philippine domains. Thus, for this reason, a tax exist on those private own properties in payment for using the privileges and land property of the Philippine government they use and access. This relationship does not only exist in the Philippines but also on every countries of the world. But sometimes, it does not go well on this kind of relationship because of conflict of interests of both parties wherein the innocent customers/people are the ones who suffers a lot.
Take for example, if the Philippine government tax greatly a private company, like the private roads in the Philippines (North Luzon Expressway[NLEx],South Luzon Expressway[SLEx],Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, Coastal Road, and the Skyway) which the present administration (the Aquino Administration) have planned to do but was blocked by the Supreme Court of the Philippines – the private owners will transfer the burden of the government tax to the innocent civilian Filipinos by increasing the cost of their service, like the toll rates on private roads. Thus, the civilian Filipinos are the always innocent victims.

North Luzon Expressway
It seems, the Aquino administration have made mistake again in their plans to levied a 12 % VAT (value added tax) on private roads because it was blocked by the Supreme Court and some Filipino people wants the TRO (temporary restraining order) to be permanent, else the innocent motorists will suffer the increase toll rates.
