Is the current Philippine president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III a great fool and troublemaker trying hard to fight the powerful China? How fool is he!

Then, it is the OFWs in China involved on drug muling were sentence to capital punishment or death sentence in China without thorough investigation if they are really involved on the allegations of drug trafficking with PNoy just smirk and do not do anything to save his/her fellow Filipinos [?](actually, he is half-Pinoy and half-Chinese) due to August 23,2011 botched rescue of the Chinese nationals which he snob to give them a consolation and public apology for their lost love ones; and hypocritically visit China for said peace talks for the Spratlys island yet China just trick him and make him dupe for China is still firm in its decision to claim the Sparatlys islands and now the Philippines suffer the consequences of the fury of China because of Noynoy who is “Noynoying” and making rounds of lies ,hypocrisy and arrogance.
The latest curse of China is damp and make it rot the Philippine bananas on the Sino port by refusing the Philippine bananas to be imported into their land; not to mention the impending war of China against Philippine due to Scarborough Shoal issue.

The president of Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association which consist of 18 Mindanao company expressed dismay with the reaction of the Chinese authorities, : “..Mindanao exporters feel we are being harassed…” and state that the banana industry have lost 1 billion.

“I hope this is really not political because we are in the business. We don’t want to believe that the life of the banana industry is threatened by our country’s problem with China…”

Moreover, the Mindanao businessmen complained that their banana business should not tainted with political issue going on with China and Philippines fueled by both parties but mostly heated and intensified by the foolishness and arrogance of Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III beginning his incompetent management of the August 23, 2011 bus hostage incident which left the innocent Chinese nationals lifeless and not help and snob heartlessly by Noynoy when their families ask for consolation and justice.

The blame for Chinese bullying acts is Noynoy and the Mindanao businessmen should stop complaining regarding Chinese authorities reactions toward their banana business but rather rock the seat of presidency of Noynoy who is making troubles against China wherein China just react naturally to depend itself from stupidity of the current Philippine president, wherein the innocent Filipino citizen suffer the consequences of PNoy’s incompetent ruling and messing up with China.

How Fool is Noy is !

Almost Pinoy Indie Films when screen abroad on international award giving bodies, it wins an award compare to mainstream films that sometimes could no able to make it. For Pinoy indie films are really Films that have substance wherein audience could pick up something important or could learn something; indie films are not just pure entertainment film like the mainstream films which are sometimes are just pure entertainment to gain large sum of money, thus the quality and essence of the film is compromise always; but indie films are educational films that awakens the senses and mind of the audience watching it. Therefore, the reason for this type of Pinoy films to be successful always on international award giving bodies.

HALAW

HALAW

The latest on the list of successful Pinoy indie films that have been given international recognition is the Indie Film directed by a Filipino from Mindanao region of the Philippines and theme is also regional. This latest Pinoy Indie Film that has garnered an international recognition is the indie Film – “HALAW” (Ways of the Sea).

Halaw is a Pinoy Indie Film that tackles the struggles of Filipinos crossing the Sulu Sea in a makeshift boat just to work in Malaysia, illegally. This Pinoy Indie Film is directed by a Pinoy Mindanaon Filipino – Sheron Dayoc, who now works in Singapore for Xtreme Productions as a program director for TV content and documentaries for the Asian area. I guess his job at Singapore is brought by the success of his first Pinoy Indie Film “Halaw” which have received some big recognition and awards, namely, as the best picture in the World Cinema Narrative festival tied with British film “Lost in Italy”; have won the Top prize in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen Film Festival and Special Mention prize at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival; a special selection at the Adana Golden Boll International Film Festival at the “Asia to Africa” section of the festival, and currently received recommendation from the Philippine Consulate General to watch it at the Chicago International Film Festival.

According to Sheron Dayoc, his film Halaw is a regional film which should every Filipino watch especially those in Manila in order to discover that the Philippines doesn’t revolve only on Manila stories but there are untold stories outside Manila that should be brought into the mainstream consciousness of every Filipinos that has been accustomed to common usual Manila stories. He says “there are many untold stories outside Manila. It’s about time that the richness of the culture of our provinces, whether from the northernmost part of Luzon or the southernmost point of Mindanao, was shown to the world..”

The Philippine Mango is one of the fruits most Filipinos loves to eat whether the fruit is ripe or not and one of the Philippine fruits that has high nutritional value which every Filipinos could enjoy and be proud of on the world. Actually the Philippine Mangoes or the Pinoy mango is the most love mango in the world because Pinoy Mango is said to be the best mangoes in the world and most exported fruit of the Philippines with a revenue amounting to 16 Billion pesos annually from an estimated 160,000 hectares of mango farm across the Philippines with Malungon of Sarangani Philippines as the leading municipality in the Philippines that produces largest production of mangoes with last year(2010) its mango plantation expanded into additional 2,00 hectares of mango plantation from 3,296 hectares with now 5,000 hectares of mango plantation.

Pinoy Mango

Pinoy Mango

But though the Philippines is said to contributes 3.5 % of world’s mango production, lately, the Mango Industry becomes lethargic or become indisposed due to inconsistent weather patterns and conditions which affect Mango farmers especially those in Mindanao or those in Sarangani Mindanao. The changing of weather condition has forced mango farmers to deliberately induce the Mango trees to bear fruits the hard way instead of the mangoes bear naturally. For typically, mango trees bear fruits during dry seasons and not during cold and stormy seasons; but because of inconsistent weather condition recently happening in the Philippines wherein almost weekly there is a typhoon, the production of mango have reduce into now 670,000 metric tons per year compare to usual 1M metric tons per year since the changing of Philippines weather patterns starting the year 2008.
The reduction of mango production annually is really big and alarming for this reduces also the income of Pinoy Mango farmers who rely on this kind of business; however, there is other means to get livelihood if mango industry in the Philippines declines.

The ultimate solution to this problem is if only Mother Nature will reduce hampering the Philippines with weekly typhoons; but what can we do about climate change though some blame it to those who do not love Mother Nature. No matter what environmental undertakings we do to avert the consequences of the growing climate change in the world, the earth will not wait us for it to spin its axis whenever the earth wishes to spin it on this way and that.

It is resist or accepts.

Mindanao is Not a Scary Place

Beset with so much overwhelming bad news and reports like constant terroristic bombings on public places, Abu Sayyaf’s random kidnapping spree, Muslim and communists leftist groups constant war with Philippine military forces, and constant defamation of Islam religion by mainstream Christian media around the world wherein Islam is the known dominant religion on Mindanao Philippines, one who is not familiar and not inhabitant of Mindanao Philippines will wonder how wrecked is the government in Mindanao or one will be conclusive to think that local governments in Mindanao are terribly in bad management. But is it if one knows the heart of this region of the Philippines?

Former Galing Pook Awardees during PGMA admin.

Former Galing Pook Awardees during PGMA admin.

Yes, amidst all these bad news proliferating on mainstream media and on Christian indoctrination against Islam about Mindanao, one will be astound to know that Mindanao’s local governments has been winning the most commendable places with effective good governmental programs in the Philippines in the “Galing Pook Awards”; just recently this year, among the 15 finalist, five of local government units of Mindanao bagged the awards, namely, the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Surigao Del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, Cagwait Surigao del Sur and Dumingag Zamboanga Del Sur. Prior to these latest awardees, there are also places or provinces in Mindanao that has won the “Galing Pook Awards”; these are, Sulu, Kapatagan Lanao Del Sur, Wao Lanao Del Sur, Bongao Tawi-Tawi, Upi Maguindanao, and South-Western Ligwasan Alliance of municipalities in Maguindanao.

These latest awardees won by their effective governmental programs like the former winners as follows:

(1) Misamis Oriental – for its “Strategic Innovations for Government Hospitals” that bridged hospitals around their province to be accessible to all people in Misamis; outsourcing funds for facility development, improving effective communication and referral networks, introducing consignment scheme on regards to pharmaceutical-medical enterprise, and others pertaining to innovative governmental hospital administration.

With these good reports regarding local government management in Mindanao, we can conclude that Mindanao Philippines is not a bad place or region in the Philippines contrary to bad news being reported on mainstream media and Muslim people are no war freaks as what Christian preachers try to paint to their followers.

Mangled ARMM?

The worse political killing so far that hits the Philippine politics is the case of the Maguindanao massacre where the major suspects are the former ruling Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao(ARMM) governors which of course caused another mangling effects on Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao(ARMM)’s socio-economic and political status again, wherein for the past ten years since it was created to pacify the large population of Filipino Muslims on Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-tawi, for the virtual separation from the rest in the Philippines as they have requested; this autonomous region in the Philippines have suffered years of alleged corruption and tyrannical rule or abuse of authority of its successive governors. The most recent of these allegations is the case of the Ampatuans being link as the mastermind behind the ruthless Maguindanao massacre of fifty seven people including media people and the wife of their political opponent.

Maguindanao Massacre

Maguindanao Massacre

The case has been so controversial just like the case of former ARMM governor Nur Misuari who was also arrested, not for a murder case but for a rebellion against the main government of the Philippines. Actually Nur Misuari is the man behind the BangsaMoro Group or the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) or Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) that keeps on warring against the Philippine government in Manila, whereas the Philippine government in Manila keeps on making peace with them.

The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao have successive six governors since it was created  ten years ago, and these governors have contributed much to the development of the region though there are many allegations of graft and corruption and abuse of authority among its governors.

The six ARMM governors that rule and govern ARMM prior to Ampatuans were :

1. Zacaria Candao – the first elected Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanano (ARMM) governor that rules from 1990 to 1993.

2. Lininding Pangandaman –he governs ARMM from 1993 to 1997

3. Nur Misuari – he governs ARMM from 1997 to 2001

4. Dr. Parouk Hussin – he governs ARMM from 2001 to 2005

5. Zaldy Ampatuan –he governs ARMM from 2005 to 2009

6. Ansaruddin Adiong – he is a current acting ARMM governor in the autonomous region replacing Zaldy Ampatuan or after the arrest of Zaldy Ampatuan for the Maguindanao massacre case filed against Ampatuan. Ansaruddin Adiong was the vice governor of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) prior to the arrest of Zaldy Ampatuan, where the accused party runs again for another term but unfortunately have been currently accused as the mastermind of the Maguindanao massacre.

Mindanao Art Artists’ Chance

Usually, it is the Manila based art artists were given chance to show their talents and works on both local and international prestigious painting exhibitions, but now the Mindanao based art artists were given once in a lifetime chance to show off their hidden talents and works which was usually neglected, not known, and eclipse by the work of the Luzon based art artists.

Thanks to Brenart International who accommodates Filipino Mindanao Art artists to do an exhibit in their premier art galleries in Belgium. Yes Brenart International is premier art galleries in Belgium.

The painting exhibit is entitled “Tanaw Mindanao”, which show cases of course the art works of four Mindanao artists, namely Rameer Tawasil, Joel Geolamen, Kublai Ponce-Millan and National Artist for Visual Arts Abdulmari Asia Imao.

The painting exhibit on Brenart International will be special because this is the first time a Filipino art works will be featured on the galleries of Brenart International wherein mostly a Belgian art works, the pre-Columbian, ancient Oriental and African arts are displayed or exhibited. So, it is really a very rare chance among Filipino art artists and even more the Filipino art works are Mindanao’s best art artists’ masterpieces wherein their audiences are European people.

The current national Philippine flag today is just a mere derivative flag from the Philippine flags that precedes it. Long before it was wave on General Emilio Aguinaldo’s balcony on 1898, its predecessors already made a mark to some Filipinos who love their countries.

The very first Flag of the Philippines that has been created is said to be the flag of Andres Bonifacio. It is the flag of their Secret Society named Katipunan, which has an acronym of three Ks or KKK. These three Ks stands for Kataas-taasang Kagalang-galang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan or in English word Highest and Most Honorable Society of the Sons of the Nation.

This very first Philippine flag is in full red color with the three Ks on white color on the center of the red flag. You can google the image of this flag to see for yourself what it looks like. This KKK flag was made by Andres Bonifacio’s wife Gregoria De Jesus and Benita Rodriguez.

This Flag of the Philippines have variations that is some put the three Ks in a horizontal position, some in triangular form and some one large K only.

Another distinct variation of this flag is the flag of General Mariano Llanera. His version is of black background with one K on the left side and a skull above a two cross bones on the right.

This first Philippine flag has gone many revisions, variations and versions until it reach the present day flag of the Philippines.

There are variations with the three Ks but with an image of a sun above them but with red as background; there is a version with a white triangle lying down horizontally on the left corner or an equilateral triangle and within this white triangle are the three Ks spread on the three corners of the triangle, while on its center is the image of a rising sun behind a mountain, this version was said to be created by General Pio del Pilar; some version of the Philippine flag is the one called the Sun of Liberty of the Naic Assembly whose only image on the red flag is the image of a sun with a face on it without the three Ks.

Another variation is the Magdalo flag. This flag has only an image of the sun on the center which one letter K at the center of the sun. The letter K here is written on the ancient Filipino alphabet.

However, on the Battle of Tirad Pass and Pasong Balite, General Gregorio Del Pilar introduce a new flag with a striking resemblance of a Cuban flag. But this flag of General Gregorio Del Pilar was not at all sensationalized by Filipinos because of it resemblance to a Cuban flag.

But on 1898, while on exile at Hong Kong, Emilio Aguinaldo made another banner flag. This time the flag have a freemasonry triangle symbol with three stars on the corners and a sun with a face or a mythical sun on the center, Which according to him, the eight rays of the sun represents the eight provinces that revolted against the Spanish ruling, namely Manila Philippines, Pampanga Philippines, Cavite Philippines, Bulacan Philippines, Nueva Ecija Philippines, Bataan Philippines, Laguna Philippines, and Batangas Philippines. While the three stars represents: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

And this flag was wave at General Emilio Aguinaldo’s balcony, and also this flag of the Philippines was revised by former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon by removing the face on the sun. Thus revised version has now become the current flag of the Philippines. It is now the accepted Philippine flag.

General Santos City Philippines is one of the cities in Mindanao Philippines which the Philippines can be proud of because it is where most tuna fishes in the Philippines come from. For General Santos City Philippines is the “Tuna Capital of the Philippines”. Thus, because of its abundance of tuna fishes and other sea foods, locals feast and pampers themselves with different or variety of tuna dishes and other fish dishes such as the Opah (second most eaten seafood specifies at General Santos City Philippines aside from Tuna fish) in their meals and eating feast. Food establishments at General Santos city or to say restaurants and eateries, has experimented dishes and recipes whose main ingredient is the tuna fish. One example of tuna dishes mix with other fish is the “sutukil-sugba” dish which composes of charcoal-boiled tuna mix with special sauce and dipped in toyomansi.

General Santos International Airport is new airport in General Santos which replaces the older airports on it. It is located 17 kilometers away from the down town city.

Another distinct feature of General Santos City is its Wharf or Pier. Its wharf is one of the best piers in the Philippines. With its large wharf, not only it connects the cities from the key cities in the Philippines but also cities and piers outside the Philippines.

Though General Santos City is a small fragment of land bounded by Sarangani Philippines and municipalities of South Cotabato Philippines at Southern Mindanao Philippines, yet it is not only large in population (considered to be the most populous cities in the Philippines) but also in commercial and industrial matters ,as well as agricultural also.

Speaking of agricultural side of General Santos City, this city is the one of the largest producer of agricultural crops like corn, rice, asparagus, pineapple, coconuts, copra, potatoes, and other agricultural crops and fruits and vegetables.

It has abundant of agricultural crops because like Davao city Philippines, General Santos city is also a typhoon-free region and have only sufficient amount or volume of rainfall to water its agricultural lands.

So thus, General Santos city is not only large in terms of industrial matters but also in agricultural matters which makes it one of the best cities in Mindanao Philippines as well the best destination in the Philippines, despite of the recent negative news report of frequent bombings within the city. It is part of Mindanao Philippines to have such negative news reports due to its bandits making it their haven.

The Spanish have set their foot of course to this city and left a footprint upon it. Actually, the Spaniard has set a Pilar Port to it and has perhaps so called it “City of Flowers”. However, it is said that the natives of it, that is before the Spaniards set their foot upon it, have so named it “Samboangan” which means “many flowers”.

One of the province cities within Zamboanga region is the Pagadian city. Pagadian city Philippines is a province city within Mindanao; however, this city set itself apart by projecting sophisticated cityhood which strikes a resemblance to HongKong City. Thus, Pagadain city Philippines is dubbed as the “little HongKong of the Southern Philippines”. Pagadaian city is the gateway of Zamboanga city to it Western region, which is Zamboanga Del Sur Philippines. Furthermore, almost all the regional departments of Zamboanga city Philippines was moved to Pagadian city Philippines making Pagadian city the center for Regional Departments of local government of Zamboanga city, when Pagadaian city have adopted its cityhood.

Actually, Zamboanga city Philippines is the transportation and commercial hub of Western Mindanao. For it have the busiest ports in Mindanao Philippines.
