PNoy’s Anti-Poor Program?
Despite the Aquino administration effort to beautify its Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Program on the public that its implementation will benefit many Filipinos especially the poor ones, its main agenda stinks and smells selfish increasement of wealth of the capitalists in the Philippines whether Rich Filipino Businessmen or Rich Foreign Investors, rather than benefiting the poor sectors in the Philippines, financially, among those organizations who support and advocates the welfare of the poor in the Philippines especially the Urban Poor Resource Center of the Philippines, Inc. (UPRCP).And moreover, these pro-poor organizations tagged PNoy’s Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) programs as an “anti-poor” and “pro-capitalist” program that will just wipe out the urban poor sector within and outside Metro Manila.
According to Urban Poor Resource Center of the Philippines, Inc.(UPRCP),at least 360,000 poor families will face eviction and will experience dark future under Aquino administration once PNoy’s Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) programs will be implemented and this is already happening on the continuous demolition jobs happening on poor areas in the Philippines. PNoy’s Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) programs as well as PNoy’s other economic policies, according to pro-poor organization favors NOT the poor sector in the Philippines but rather PNoy’s economic policies are inclined more to give favor and help Big Businesses, Landlords and foreign capitalists in the Philippines instead.
This is obviously not new since the Aquino family is an Oligarch that seeks to protect selfishly their own family owned businesses and properties and wealth in the Philippines yet hypocritically showing to the public eye that they are pro-poor.
The poor sector of the Philippines have always been duped by a lying politicians when they covet for a government seat in the Philippine government during election times by promising and showing they are pro-poor. And the poor sector in the Philippines never learns because some poor were not inclined to gain knowledge and wisdom to depend and protect themselves from being exploited by the rich ones and knowledgeable ones whether a traditional politician or a traditionally religious person or group, but just satisfied to have bread and water on their table.
Some traditional politicians uses sweet promises and cold cash to allure the poor sectors to vote and support them on their selfish pursuit, while traditional rich religious people uses religion and god and the fear of hell to allure the poor sector to donate their money.
This is how the poor sector in the Philippine has always been exploited by those who have authority, power, wealth and knowledge in the Philippines.
Empowering The Philippine Automotive Industry
Vehicle in our times is very important in order to take us to where we want to go fast and easy, thus having a personal vehicle like car is one of the material possessions most coveted by any one of us. However, to have one is very costly for every one vehicle sell on vehicle stores cost beyond what we could afford for by our little money, but to rich and wealthy people, it is nothing.
And because of the expensiveness of having a personal vehicle and not all Filipinos in the Philippines could afford to have one, the automotive industry in the Philippines is quiet not successful and striving. For only the rich ones could afford to buy one. Thus, because of this less consumer patronage specifically on cars, a brand new vehicle association was erected or formed to address some consumer issues, as well as the status of the automotive industry in the Philippines; of what the automotive industry could do regarding such issues. This brand new vehicle association in the Philippines was just recently debut on the Filipino public consciousness which compose of fiftheen(15) vehicle brands in the Philippines.

This newly formed or created vehicle association in the Philippines is the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors or AVID. This vehicle association is a private non-stock and non-profit business association recently incorporated last July 2010 with four areas of engagement: (1) Strategic Policy Thinking (2) Communications and Advocacy (3) Knowledge Capital Building and (4) Partnership Strengthening.
Recently the AVID held the First Thought Leadership Forum that discusses consumers’ trends for more competitive automotive industry to address of course what I have discussed above.
Actually, last year 2010 is the year considered by the automotive industry in the Philippines to be the landmark year for automotive industry in the Philippines that have the highest rate of sales so far from the previous years with 168,490 units sold last year 2010.This is really good for automotive industry and good year for the industry which is also not only due to Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors or AVID thought leadership forum for the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors or AVID is still but also for some other auto promotions brought by the auto brands i mention above this article.
The report above about the high sales in auto units sold last year 2010 was reported by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (Campi) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), likewise also Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (Campi) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) expected a continual growth on sales this year 2011 as the automotive industry in the Philippines gots a high momentum last year 2010.
“2011 is likewise seen to be a positive year as overall economic environment continues to be relatively favorable with sustained business and consumer confidence, GDP (gross domestic product) growth, stable forex (foreign exchange), positive forecast for OFW (overseas Filipino workers) remittances, manageable inflation rate forecast, continued healthy financing environment, as well as new model introductions by auto players this year,” the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc (CAMPI), president Elizabeth Lee said.
The Philippines is the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors or AVID is just an additional help to boost more the automotive industry in the Philippines to gain more sales in coming years as it already helps boost the sales in autos last year 2010, thus this year 2011 the automotive industry is expected to continue to increase in sales.
“We are likewise hopeful that this year will bring in new investments on the back of government’s direction to support the expansion of local assembly operations, create jobs, and create a competitive environment where the Philippines can participate in a larger scale, regionally. We have to take advantage of the opportunities that are present and use the plant capacities we have available to serve both the domestic and export markets. A strong, clear, and competitive road map is key,” the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc (CAMPI), President Elizabeth Lee said.
Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. is still on the top most bought auto brands in the Philippines with 33.7 of the total sales, selling 56,855 units last year 2010 followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp with 19.2 percent selling 32,422 units sold, then by Hyundai Asia Resources Inc with 11.1 percent selling 18,696 units last year 2010.
Coffee Addict?
Aside from smoking and sex addiction, there is another addiction the people of the world going gaga with – Coffee; yes Coffee. The cause of addiction is of course, coffee’s caffeine content; a stimulant and alkaloid component that makes one feels “alive”. Though, caffeine makes you feel “alive”, some reports says that is will also “Kill” you if you take much of it due to some psychological impacts.
In the Philippines, Filipinos have a coffee mania wherein Nestle Philippines, Starbucks, and so-called herbal natural wellness companies benefitted much to Filipino’s addiction to coffee. Most Filipinos were carried away not only the addicting caffeine in coffee but also with the hype and fad of drinking coffee for example at Starbucks Café even though the Starbucks coffee cost much. In my opinion, Actually it is not the coffee alone at Starbucks most Filipinos going gaga with but also the prestige that will be credited to them once someone learn they are sipping a hot cup of coffee at Starbucks. The “honor” is the prime motif of buying actually though the Starbucks coffee is very expensive and not the Starbucks coffee basically, as I notice. For there is a culture of so-called “social climbing” in the Philippines. The desire to be on the upper social level in the Philippine society.
Starbucks Coffee Shop
Another coffee-mind conditioning Filipinos are easily to be conditioned with is the Nestle’s Nestcafe brand having the tag of “choose wellness” which connotes the good effects of drinking such Nestle products, in here the Coffee brand Nestcafe, everyday because coffee has an anti-oxidant components which contributes to health wellness. Nah, how can a processed and manufactured product retains the natural anti-oxidant component of natural coffee whereas simple cooking already drains the nutritional components or value of a raw nutritious fruits, vegetables, herbs or of a raw coffee beans. What more is the processed and manufactured one? Even though, Nestle will add a synthetic anti-oxidant component on its Nestcafe brand to make its statement on TV ads credible or believable, still it is just a counterfeit one, not actually the real anti-oxidant present naturally on unprocessed coffee beans.

Nescafe coffee
But if one wants to acquire the benefits of real coffee, grind the natural unprocessed beans naturally or better eat the fruit itself or boil the coffee leaves if you are a certified coffee addict.
Not only is the coffee bean in the height of mania in the Philippines but also the coffee creamer that makes the coffee thick. Nestle have also benefitted from the use of a creamer to add the “deliciousness” of the coffee by its creamer brand name Coffee-Mate wherein most coffee maniac Filipinos spent an additional money for another Nestle Brand that will complement Nestle’s coffee brand. What a double benefits and success for Nestle, is not it? All you need is a little bit mental conditioning to the buying public that you need this and that because it is good for you, blah blah, so that your products will hit the market. What a Marketing Strategy!
Well, a newbie in town wants to join the bandwagon to seduce more Filipinos to drink more coffee, though they said they do it not for commercial sake but to help the “society?” What I am talking about is the First Kal’s Dairy Inc. which planned to put the “Carabao” or buffalo in your coffee.
Yes, they want to put the Carabao which one often sees in the farm into your cup of coffee as your daily coffee creamer. A carabao’s milk they will transform into liquid coffee creamer which they called “Cara Crema”. “Cara” – stands for Carabao and the “Kal” on their company name stands for “Kalabaw” (tagalong word for carabao).
Actually, it is the first kind in the Philippines, the very first liquid coffee creamer in town which will compete of course head to head with Nestle’s Coffee-Mate. Of course, the First Kal’s Dairy,Inc. have the edge because their coffee creamer is already liquid and have an impression that if it comes from carabao’s milk, it might be nutritious and healthy. For the carabao’s milk is considered “the most complete food milk “compare to cow and goat’s milk. Yah sure, but it the processing and manufacturing really retains the complete nutritional value of carabao’s milk? This is Marketing propaganda in order for their products to be sold and patronized to a coffee maniac country like the Philippines.
If you want to get all the nutrients present in carabao’s milk, then drink it naturally without being factory manufactured and processed.
But in fairness, Nestle is one of the best, safe, nutritious(though it is only synthetic),and delicious processed foods in town which I could recommend thumbs up if one is considering buying a processed food in the supermarket, aside from natural herbal companies sprouting like mushrooms in town.
Religious Freaks in the Philippines
Even the Philippines is not spare from useless religious wrangling of major and minor religious sect vying for the approval of one Filipino who is searching for a religion whom he or she will join; because the Philippines is predominantly Catholic and Christian country eclipsing Islam dominance on the Luzon and Visayan part of the Philippines. Islam religion has only dominance in the Mindanao part of the Philippines.

Founder of Dating Daan Eli Soriano
A predominant Christian country that is divided into many variety of so-called Christian churches like the Roman Catholic church, the orthodox church, the protestant, the Methodist, the Baptist, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC),the Jehovah’s witness, the Mormons, the charismatic, the born again, the CFCs, the SFCs, the JIL movement the “dating daan” movement, the El Shaddai group, etc.
So many variety that leads into maligning and slandering one another and calling one another “fake and satanic” and even killing one another just like what have happened to an INC pastor and his family who were massacred inside the INC compound together with his wife and children, as reported a year ago; just only to convince a Filipino seeker to join their religious group which is so vain and so senseless. There are other religious killings happening below the table but was not reported on the public because one’s religious reputation will be ruined or tainted and will lose chances of winning a proselyte if it is publicly reported. Obviously, some what they only want is the tithes or money offerings that a proselyte will donate or give to their respective churches or religious congregation because of financial poverty.

El Shaddai Head in the Philippines - Mike Velarde
Take for example, pastor Mike Velarde who founded the El Shaddai group wherein he become an instant millionaire by asking tithes and money offerings from his followers in exchange for prayer requests and his blessings as the servant of God and Christ. Actually, he have already bought his own mall and even attempted to run for a government seat.
Arayat Philippines is a region in Pampanga Philippines where Mt. Arayat seated where residence of it were at the slope of the mountain. Yap, most residence of Arayat in the Philippines or rather Arayat Pampanga Philippines was living beneath the slopes of foot of this inactive mountain. Arayat Pampanga Philippines is located at Central part of Luzon Philippines and is nestled at the foot of Mt. Arayat. Actually, Arayat Philippines is not the only place in the world that has its name, for there is a place in Spain which is also called “Arayat”. Arayat Philippine historians say that it is from this place Arayat Pampanga in the Philippines gets its name.
During the Spanish times, an encomiendero who conquer Arayat whose name is Fernando de Arayat has renamed Arayat which formerly known then as “Alaya” which means “East” and Mt. Arayat was then called Mt. Alaya. And the inhabitants of it were Aetas. It is said it is kind of wilderness ambience at the foot of Mt. By the way, aside from the Mt. Arayat National Park which some tourist visit, Arayat Pampanga is also well known of its dignitaries who live at early times like Jose Alejandrino (the statue at the Arayat municipal) who is a companion and contemporary of Dr. Jose Rizal (Philippines national hero), who is also my forefather in my mother’s lineage or genealogy. Dr. Emigdio C. Cruz whose name bears a district hospital at San Agustin Norte Arayat Pampanga is known or said to be lived during World War II.
Moreover, Amelito Mutuc and Leoncio Parungao is both secretary during Diosdado Macapagal Government who made also Arayat proud. There are also military dignitaries, like Major General Rene R. Cruz who is former RaCom Commander and PC-INP Commander, Col. (Ret.) Vicente A. Pascual who is former a Deputy Judge Advocate General, and Commodore Lodovigildo L. Gantioqui who of the Philippine Navy.

Another well known at Arayat Philippines is Arayat’s well known organized tricycle association which is the famous New 06 Association, Inc. Wherein, my father is the founder and I too have work as an assistant secretary of the associations during the 1990 and early 2000.
