From June 13 To June 19

Philippine news and happenings which top or headed the Filipino public awareness from week June 13 up to June 19 and that fills up the news on Philippine Television and Philippine newspaper, in accordance to my own observation. Here are they:

1. Spratlys Again. “Who owns the Spratlys fights”, divides the islands to an endless struggle for sovereignty. It will not resolve the issue if every concerned countries have this on their mind for it is evident geographically that concerned countries have divided share and no one owns the whole South China Sea and the islands therein.

It would better that the concerned countries share peacefully than egoistically fight who owns the Spratlys which leads to nowhere but only endless disputes and worst will lead into war only because of a tiny islands like little children fighting for a one little candy. It is a childish way.

Former Philippine president Ms. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is somewhat right on her peace pact like plan which gave the concerned countries an equal share of the islands to avoid war than PNoy’s egoistical approach to it that will only leads eventually to war. But for sure PNoy’s own incompetency to resolve the issue will blame it again to Gloria, as usual just to hide his own incompetency which he have already really done, as the recent reports said.

If you examined the issue, will the concerned countries, especially China concede that Spratlys is indeed Philippines’ territorial possession when China has its own, according to them solid evidence to claim Spratlys and throw out of whack Philippines grounded claim on the islands?

And what this meddling issues of America and other countries out there backing up the Philippines on its claim of sovereignty over the Spratlys. Are these  meddling countries truly backing up the Philippines or are they just using the Philippines  as a stepping stone to fulfill their political agenda against China? This siding act is quite dangerous because it spew disgusting signs of future world war. And if America is for World Peace why it is siding the Philippines which only creates conflicts rather than being magnanimous and neutral in the issue that will create peace between China and Philippines.

2. Food Poisoning Incidents. A subsequent event of food poisoning incident, namely first from Calumpit Bulacan which brought more than 200 people(children and adults) to hospitals because of aching stomach and sluggishness after eating “spaghetti” from a birthday party; and followed by another report of similar incident from Tuguegarao Cagayan which brought 46 people to hospitals and have killed two children after eating the food in the school canteen which believe to have oxalic acid but recently it was tentatively reported that it is not oxalic acid but sodium nitrate or “salitre” which the teacher who cook the food mistaken the sodium nitrate as salt.

These two incidents of food poisoning bring back into public awareness that food doesn’t only make your physical body alive but it could also kill it, if improper handling of food is not done and observed.

There are already number of case of food poisoning in the Philippines and most especially happens on schools, but still lessons have not yet learned, thus history repeats itself.

3.The Peril of Online Social Networking. The case of actor-director Ricky Rivero who almost die because of stab wounds brought to him by his new found facebook friend name Hans Ivan Ruiz as the news trying to say to the public, as well as the subsequent case of a young college girl who lost her insanity after being raped many times by her alleged meet up with her Tagged friends on social networking site – Tagged sparks new public fear that there is a great danger when one socialize online with someone whom one do not know personally when one attempt to meet up a new found one friend personally.

4. Jose Rizal’s Birthday. Annually immortalizing a so-called Filipino hero name Jose Rizal who spend his life indulging on personal gain of knowledge away from the Philippines amidst Spanish tyrannical occupation in the Philippines before he come back in the Philippines, and die because he was accused as “heretic(erehe)” against strictly imposed Christianity by the Spaniards in the Philippine then wherein Jose Rizal become a freemasonic on his beliefs which he used i guess to scrap away the Spanish-inspired Christianity and imposed his own religious beliefs which incensed the Spanish priests which prompts them to label Jose Rizal “heretic” and deliver to death sentence trough firing squad to protect and defend the Filipinos through his new found religion; is indeed absurd and unfair to other Filipinos who truly fought the Spanish occupation who do not leave the entire Philippines so that they could study first abroad of how to fight the Spaniard just like what Jose Rizal have done; or who never left their homelands amidst the ruling of the Spanish yet not known in history because they were not financially rich like Jose Rizal. It is sickening to call a National hero, a person who leave the country amidst the tyrannical rule of a conqueror and left his own people just to pursue his personal dream to study what he wanted study abroad. Is that a hero?

5. Miley Cyrus Concert. Another international young pop singer sensation invades the Philippine concert grounds and rock her Filipino fans with her smashing hit songs like, ”The Climb”, ”Take Me Along”, ”Simple Song”, ”Party in the USA”, and others. Yes, Miley Cyrus is in the house. Last June 17, she rock the concert ground of SM Mall of Asia with her concluded Philippine concert.

6. Typhoon “Egay”. It seems the Philippines is receiving a weekly dose of storms, for another storm for the week strike Pinas and hits our Top list – the typhoon “Egay”. However, it is not quite super typhoon anyway. But hold your seats again this week for another typhoon dosage – the forthcoming of typhoon “falcon”. For according to weather forecast, another typhoon will follow the typhoon “Egay” this week which gave early warnings and preparation for the forthcoming of this new storm.

From June 6 to June 12

1. Back To School Activities. Second Week of June 2011 has been plague with usual annual settings across the Philippines: schools have been attack with multitude of children, parents and teachers and even of course mobile vendors. Moreover, not only schools have been conqueror but even bookstores have been flock and zap. Schools have been filled with children’s giggles and yells and even dramas especially by children who have their first initiation on school life without their beloved “Mama”.

2. PNoy Cronyism. PNoy’s style or Hypocritical Mimicry of the past administration?  Yes, spare him like he do not spare his scoffing tongue the past administrations who also do the same since there is nothing wrong about cronyism as long cronies are competent and not corrupt{??}; feed his hypocrisy and  babbling arrogant mouth. What a perfect righteous Philippine president he is.

Cronyism has come into public scrutiny especially by the opposition minorities since the Aquino administration subsequently appoint cronies one after the another as his cabinet officials which is now recently the appointment of Mar Roxas (which PNoy eversince wanted to include him on his executive staff but Mar just somewhat felt indecisive and election ban hinders him then to work on Malacanang together with PNoy) as the new secretary of Department of Transportation and Communication(DOTC) replacing former secretary Jose “Ping” De Jesus.

3. Escalating Tension on the ownership of Spratlys. China is persistent and steadfast in their claims, that Spratlys is their throwing another hot fire on the issue when they do a military activity on South China Sea and place their own marker of ownership on Spratlys sparking anger and worries among the concerned countries who show interest on the Spratlys Islands, including especially the Philippines; PNoy promises to do an effective counter actions regarding it.

But however, Albay governor Joey Salceda who is a political ally of PNoy want to intensify the issue by declaring a boycott on China made products in the Philippines and much even more when the United States wanted to meddle on the issue and express interest on supporting the side of the Philippines which consequently incensed China.

However, despite of this hot issue, the two countries, namely The Philippines and China shows to the public that their friendship ties is still intact and unaffected by the issue and in still good shape.

4.  Independence Day Commemoration. Yearly, the so-called Philippine Independence Day was celebrated on June 12 which is historically a great lie. Moreover, the worst part of this fraud independence of the Philippines is being promoted that the Philippines is already more than 100 years free and independent.

5. Storm “Dodong”. Another taste of storm hits the Philippines which brought rains and floods across the country. However, the storm just slips away so quickly.

Bitter China And Provocative Philippines

After the fiasco of August 23,2010 bus hostage drama which killed innocent Chinese nationals wherein proper justice has not yet truly served for the victims that has made China bitter toward the Philippines; would perhaps, that is why the Chinese government never considers the plea of the Philippine government regarding the innocence of the three convicted and executed Filipinos last March, counter strike again the Philippine move, now against Philippines diplomatic protest at the United Nations (UN) filed this April 2011 regarding Philippine claim of the sovereignty over the Kalayaan Island Group of Spratlys Islands telling the United Nations that the Philippine invaded or conquered the Spratlys or Nansha Islands(China’s name for Spratlys) in 1970s which is theirs or part of their sovereignty and  territory in contrast with the Philippine protest that China’s claim regarding Spratlys has no basis in international law.

China strongly counteracts that the Philippines diplomatic notes regarding Philippine claim over Kalayaan Island Group in the Spratlys “..are totally unacceptable to the Chinese government..”.For the Kalayaan Island Group that is part of their Nansha Islands (Spratlys) was long since theirs and it is supported with abundant historical and legal evidences and the Philippines during 1970s,never claims ownership of the island during then that the Philippines is making a series of treaties defining the Philippine territory and Philippines invasion of the Kalayaan Island Group during the 1970s which is considered an unlawful act to claim rights on the islands without legal acts of ownership against China’s historical ownership of the islands could not make the Philippines’ claim rights invalid and void.

Islands on Spartlys claim by Pinas and China(on respective flags)

Islands on Spartlys claim by Pinas and China(on respective flags)

Moreover, the Philippines only proof of ownership is just a mere updated “detailed map” that can be doctored which is really unprofessional on owning something as well as conquering an island which is not historically yours.

Furthermore, it is ironic that the PNoy administration is now defending what the 1970 Philippine administration have done as the China allegedly claim; actually the 1970 administration is the administration of former Philippine president Ferdinand E. Marcos which is Aquino’s mortal enemy.

Does the present Philippine government –Pnoy administration – doing a shabby act again in front of world leaders that will not only ruin its relationship with China but also put the entire Philippines under great shame and even set the Philippines in war against China? Moreover, set a war on the South China Sea which recently provokes also Taiwan to warn the Philippines from such escalating tensions it fuels against China.

Creeping Disaster?

Do the strong earthquake, tsunami and nuclear explosion on Japan have domino effect that will creep the entire Asia and that will scare the Asian people on trembling feet? I guess the Philippines is the first to faint on fear on this exaggerated apocalyptic doom scenario because the Philippines is more less prepared on this kind of stuff and the so-called “prayer vigil” is its only defense to abort and combat the forthcoming apocalypse as what they did on the ill-fated lives of the three Filipinos executed on China recently that does nothing but only waste of time influenced by too much Christian religiosity-approach on everything hoping for a make-believe miracles.

Taiwan which is the most close or nearest country on Japan never have a panicky attitude regarding the possible radiation that will creep into their country from the exploded nuclear plants of Japan caused by the strong earthquake and tsunami compare to the Philippines fearful approach. However, it is understandable why. The Philippines is not well-equipped yet on such possible scenario and just relying on the technology of other countries and have not yet invented its own technology against such possible event compare to Japan, Taiwan, China, Korea and other Philippine Asian counterparts that has develop their own technology and scientific discoveries. For admit it or not by the Filipinos, their country –the Philippines is still a puppet country by its former conquerors particularly America and Spanish that do not have its own think tank of ideas but always relying its former colonial masters compare to its Asian counterparts who could stand on their own feet and think on their own mind. In short, the Philippines is not yet truly a free country; not yet an independent country but still some kind of sheeple country on Asia.

So now, what will the Philippines do in case such radiation doom will eat up the population of the entire archipelago, will the Philippines borrow technologies from other highly developed countries? What if the technology it has bought is already obsolete and non-effective yet deceitfully promoted by the highly developed country to be the modern, advanced and effective just for the sake of profits but the true more advanced and effective they kept it secretly?

By the way, recently according to the reports of the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute, that tiny drops of radioactive isotopes were detected on the Philippine atmosphere as well in China and Korea, but it was dismiss lightly about the harmfulness of it to humans.

Sentences that still ends with Period

What is the sense of delaying a sentence with comas if it will eventually lead to a big period that will end the too much delays cause by comas?

Philippine Vice-president Jejomar Binay’s flight into China to delay the death sentence of three Filipinos caught and accused of illegal drug trafficking seems to be useless and futile because recently China still insist and pursue on the death penalty sentence for the three Filipinos. Oh what a waste of time and government funds used to please steadfast China by Jejomar.

The verdict is final and it has been ruled out according to ambassador Liu Jianchao no matter how VP JB plead for mercy for the three Filipinos that they were just duped to commit the drug crime because of their poor financial state in life; China will still pursue to execute the three Filipinos against such plead for mercy by Filipinos headed by VP JB.

One of the Three Filipinos

One of the Three Filipinos

Is the hard-heartedness of China to consider the appeal for reconsideration and mercy for the three Filipinos a vendetta or revenge against the irresponsible handling of PNoy administration of the August 23, 2010 bus hostage that leads to the death of some Chinese tourists? Is China still hurting about it? China wants the Philippines to felt the pain the Philippines have caused its people because of the fiasco? Oh PNoy!

Wanna Banana? Ask Filipino

Yes, other countries who want Banana ask the Filipino to give them banana or the Philippine is the major export supplier of bananas of different countries like Japan, Iran, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar.

The Philippines have almost the total share or market on banana industry on Korea, Japan, China and Iran with 99.8 percent, 91.6 percent, 86.3 percent and 82.4 percent, respectively consuming million boxes of Philippine banana yearly. However, present trade reports said that the Philippine Banana industry have lost $46M on sales last year 2010 due to very long drought on year 2009 and some shipping problems on Iran. According to Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association (PBGE) shipping problems on Iran was due to US headed mission to sanction the Middle East for developing nuclear weapons which of course cause trade problems on trading to Middle Eastern countries.

The Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association (PBGE) also fear the latest weather forecast of PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administrations) about the continual havoc of La Nina to some banana farms or farm lands in the Philippines which could contribute more to the loss of sales of Philippine banana on other countries of where the Philippines use to supply banana orders because of unavailability to supply the international orders.

However, the PBGE or Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association seek new bigger international markets to cope for the lost last year and seek a governmental help and assistance to iron some trade problems on Iran, China and other markets which the Philippine industry used to have higher export market share on bananas but has been hijacked by some local and international problems.

Hope that such lost on sales on Philippine banana industry last year will be able to recover this year and gain again our leadership as a major banana exporters and suppliers to the countries who rely on our feeding.

By the way, the program title of the afternoon drama series on ABS-CBN channel 2,”Juanita Banana” conveys Philippine leadership on exporting and supplying bananas on the countries I mention earlier, which could be interpreted as “Filipino (Juan/Juanita) Banana”.

The TV program just use Filipina name for Filipinos which is Juanita instead of Juan. However, the TV program title has double message or meaning it conveys, that is not only the Philippines is well known as major export supplier of bananas in the world but also Filipinas are well known to be gorgeously beautiful women in the world wherein foreign males easily enamored with. Thus,”Juanita Banana”. Moreover, most banana vendors in the Philippines are women or Filipinas.

Juan-na (Wanna)  Banana? = Juanita Banana (Ask Filipino)

What can a tourist expect to this northern top island of the Philippine archipelago? Well, if you like historic adventure or tracing the roots of Malay people in the Philippines, Batanes Island Philippines is the answer. This island is famous for its Ivatans inhabitants.
