So far, this city in the Philippines is the first to recognize gay rights within their city and create a rights desk for the gays, transgender, lesbians, and bisexuals city within their Anti-Discrimination Ordinance compare to other cities in the Philippines that still promotes discrimination among their gays transgender,lesbians and bisexual constituents – Angeles City, Pampanga.

Angeles city Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan has ordered the creation of “Gay Rights Desk” that will link to Angeles City Multi-Sectoral Consultative Council (ACMCC) wherein the gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender will also have privileges to experience the services and promotions that promote their welfare and rights in the society like to those class of people that has been discriminated unjustly in the society. According to Mayor Pamintuan, he wants his city or he wants Angeles city to be a kind of city in the Philippines that is sensitive to equal rights and welfare of all types of people in the society and that values equality and human rights.

“I want Angeles City to be the most sensitive city and local government in the Philippines to gender equality and gay rights!…… Here in Angeles, one’s right is everyone’s right. Consider Angeles City as a hallowed ground insofar as respecting and advancing the rights and welfare of all citizens are concerned,” – he said.

Consequently, spokesperson of the Progressive Organization of Gays in the Philippines (ProGay), Goya Candelario commend and praised Mayor Pamintuan for his sensitivity among the LGBT community within his city and for recognizing the LGBT community as part of a society that contributes to the progress of a community or society.

“…our way of recognizing the role and potentials of the gay sector in the development and progress of our city.” –Mayor Pamintuan.

There is a major city in the Philippines where promiscuity rules like a king or queen without any struggle against the new and old Philippine administrations that come and go, respectively. Well, because we all do it, is not it? And it is only natural acts common to humans and animals alike. Thus, this city is free to show its lewdness. This particular city in the Philippines that is often tagged or labeled as the “Sex capital” (euphemistically called “Entertainment Capital of Central Luzon “) of the Philippines is the Angeles city at the province of Pampanga Philippines. It was so labeled because of the emergence of American or US soldiers base on Clark Air Base then which are looking for hot stuff at night within the city, wherein the natives of Angeles city find an opportunity to augment their financial condition by serving these American soldiers their sexual needs, in a hope not only to have an income but to be able to marry a wealthy people like the US soldiers.

Moreover, Sex industry in the Philippines is being boost by the emergence of cities that invites foreigners who might have secret Sex-related disease like STD, HIV and AIDS whose aim in visiting every cities of the world to spread his or her disease through hiring a sex worker that may spread the disease, thus the rise sometimes of STD, HIV and AIDS victims on every cities of the world. However, recent studies that AIDS rate has been successively lowered in rate by the use of protective sex protection like condoms. But recently in the Philippines there is a report of increase of AIDS victims.

MT ARAYAT: The Mystic and Majestic Mountain

Mt. Arayat is a 2000 ft. looming land mass that stands majestically against a stark-blue horizon in myhome province of Pampanga. It is known for its beauty as well as for its mystery.  Legend has it, that Mariang Sinukuan, the local goddess of nature, lives in the interior of the forest.  She is very beautiful as well as kind-hearted.  She is generous in giving gifts to the local folks, and she helps lost travellers find their way out of the mountain.  But she also punishes those who ravish nature.  Many inhabitants of the mountain see her bathing in the river on a clear moonlight.  Sometimes, she is seen prominading the hills and glens.

But aside from the legend, Mt. Arayat is often visited by local and foreign tourists.  The mountain is very beautiful.  A trek to its summit is a delightful adventure.  You can view the skyline of the whole province.  On its top, one can commune with nature to his heart’s content.  The many colorful florals and faunas, the chirping birds atop the branches on sun-drenched, emerald-green, trees, the swaying grass that dances in rhythm with the gentle breeze are a sight to behold.  The tranquil forest and the serene mountain lake send bliss to solitude.  So, if you want to escape the hussles and bussels of city life, Mt. Arayat is the place to be.  In this mountain, you can have everything that nature has to offer.

The goverment has also seen the potential of the mountain.  Plans are in the offing to develop it as a nature tourist spot.  To plant floras of export quality that will generate income and create jobs for the locals.  It will also be developed into a wildlife sanctuary.  If plans push through, Mt. Arayat will gain prominence as one of the foremost tourist destination in the Philippines.

Angeles City is located in the Northern part of Luzon. It is also called “The Heart of the North” and also as “The City of Friendship”.

Majority of the people in Angeles City, can speak Kapampangan (Pampango), which is the native language of Pampanga and Tagalog, which is the national language of the Philippines. But old people in Angeles City, most of them can only speak Kapampangan. Because they’re truly proud of their culture and heritage.

The biggest municipality in Angeles City is Balibago. Balibago, is also known as the melting pot of raises. One of the reasons why, is because people in Angeles City are the friendliest people in the Philippines (that’s what they say) and also the so-called “Red Light District” is located in Fields Avenue in Balibago, which attracts a lot of different people all over the world.

People from different countries frequent Angeles City, not because of the friendly people, but also because of the good food, and various party places located in Balibago and Angeles City.

But the reasons given above are not the only reasons why you can frequently spot foreigners in Balibago, Angeles City. Also near Balibago is Clark Air Base. Former Air Base of the United States. But when Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991 the troops completely left Clark, because it was greatly devastated by the eruption.

Now, it is known as Clark Special Economic Zone. Where the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport is located. It is named after one of the Philippines former presidents. Also located in Clark are several Duty Free shops, and outsourcing businesses which are popularly known as call centers, which helped the Philippines economic status in a great way.

Angeles City is a very convenient place too. It is highly developed and modernized but at the same time it still has a nice suburban feeling in it.

Churches, markets, parks, bus stations and malls are easy to access. Public transportation is available 24 hours, everyday. Manila which is the capital of the Philippines is just less than 2 hours away from Angeles City.

That’s why Angeles City, is truly a place worth visiting because it’s not only a great place to party, it’s a cozy city with a rich culture and proud of it’s old world heritage.
