Unusual Usual Act
Usual things are usual things or just common and found no interest among the public, but what if the usual common acts become unusual or strange?; from this the public become curious and interested.
This first month of the year 2010 ,I found the following Philippine news below unusual to Philippines’ usual norms; they are just handful, however we can add more if another unusual thing pops-out and surprising us.
(1) Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) dubbed the ongoing Philippine weather condition in the Philippines as something “strange” or unusual though they already knew what La Nina is all about. This is due because the rainy weather hops from region to region in the Philippines casting not only rains but also floods in unprecedented way, as if the weather condition has its own itinerary to follow and have a plan to do this and that which the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) find it hard to detect and monitor; Or in other words, the weather patterns is changing so quickly that is hard to monitor it accurately according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
“Monitoring cannot be done daily anymore. What is true now may not be true in an hour.”
— Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)
Moreover, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the supposed to be dry places has been so wet and watery which makes the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) exclaimed “This is really strange weather.”
(2) Mar Roxas unusual role on his inclusion into PNoy’s administration as a “troubleshooter”, “water boy”, and “alter ego” of PNoynoy because PNoynoy himself never clear exactly what would be the role of Mar Roxas if he will be his executive secretary or what; which indeed cast a suspicion and curiosity among the public of what Mar Roxas will do.
Something “strange” (unusual) or something “fishy”?
(3)Philippine Sports, ”Athletes of the Year” for 2010 is surprisingly not Manny Pacquiao but rather four not-so very famous athletes, namely : (1) Francisco “Django” Bustamante for his winning at World 9-ball tournament, (2) Biboy Rivera for his another winning at World Bowling Cup, (3) Rey Saludar for his winning in boxing at Asian Games, and (4) Dennis Orcollo for his winning at similar sports disciplines with Francisco Bustamante.
The unusual or strange to it is that the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) aside from not recognizing Manny Pacquiao ‘s latest world fights but named four athletes for the title “Athlete of the Year 2010” instead of one, thus making it “Athletes of the Year 2010”
