Last October 23, 2010, the new game show of Willie Revillame on TV5 channel 5, Willing Willie premiers on Philippine television with expectation to match the success of now defunct Willie Revillame show Wowowee, however the new show despite it has different time slot compare to Wowowee still never rules the Philippine TV ratings during its debut on Philippine TV and within the days it was aired so far, contrary to the expectations that it will surely a big hit.
The show’s ratings in its premier telecast is only second to ABS-CBN Channel 2 ‘ “TV Patrol” having 9.5 percent audience share while “TV Patrol” got 10.1 percent, wherein Willie Revillame’s s new show never make it to the Top five Philippine TV shows with highest rating during that day his show premiers. For the one that leads on the Top ratings were GMA channel 7 shows, “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” and the “Imbestigador” show both having the 12 percent ratings which is the highest TV ratings on that say; followed by ABS-CBN show, ““Wansapanataym”, having 11.3 percent ratings, and TV5 Channel 5 shows, “LOL Laugh Or Lose”and “Talentadong Pinoy” followed having percent ratings of 11.1 percent and 10.7 percent respectively. This is according to the survey done by AGB Nielsen People Ratings last October 27, 2010.
With the data above, Willie Revillame’s new show Willing Willie still never make it on top contrary to what the show is expected to gain due to the popularity of Mr. Willie Revillame. But in fairness the new show got not so bad ratings on it premier telecast which is still a good thing to reckon with and Willie’s magic is still working despite he change channel and all the controversies surrounding him. Good luck to him if in the next TV ratings his new show already enters the top five.
So far his new show Willing Willie is still a good watch despite of the vestiges of course of his former show Wowowee. It feels that Willing Willie is just a reformatted Wowowee with new people around except only Willie and the contestants of the shows pouring out their hearts out, as it was usually seen on Wowowee show.
His show Willing Willie is fortunately aired on its premier telecast despite of the TRO or temporary restraining order filed by ABS-CBN channel 2 to stop airing the new show before everything is already settled. Truly Mr. Wowowee Willie himself is still one of the influential celebrities in the Philippines.
