Agriculture and Fisheries
Some modern Filipinos today will of course despise farming and fishing and will consider them a cheap and non-profitable business for someone to aspire in order to be successful in life but most modern Filipinos today aspire for Corporate success as the real money-making business and the true financial and material success in life; thus many go to cities leaving their farms and ponds in the province to seek “better life” in the cities and squatter everywhere just to taste any dew of the city life which they perceived and deem as the real successful world.
But the truth is that from agriculture and fisheries come forth the corporate world which some modern Filipinos today aspire to belong with. The reason for an existence of a corporate world is the management of agricultural resources as well as other natural resources like fish or seafood and how to subdue and utilized and maximized the gift of nature around.
But the money that can be gain from having one’s own farmland is painted by today’s wrong notion that if one lives as a farmer or fisherman, one is just a poor guy stock forever on one’s land and pond and could not progress further for one to wear an Americana and seat on an air-conditioned office. But this is not true because if one has his own land that one could able to till freely, one is rich. It takes only intelligence how one could be financially rich out its own land. The problem for most Filipinos today is that they are ignorant and not educated properly and mostly deceived and fooled by those few rich men in power through a deceitful mainstream media.
For recently, there is a national convention summit entitled Agriculture and Fisheries 2025 (AF2025) that attempts to uplift the Agricultural and Fisheries industry of the Philippines as well as the poor Filipino farmers and fishermen gain income. But is this convention really pro-poor Filipino farmers and fishermen or it is just a cover up to make more those who are rich landowners and fishponds richer?
What happened to the modernization of Agriculture and Fisheries is there improvement in the lives of the poor Filipino farmers and fishermen today? None. But here again this Agriculture and Fisheries 2025 (AF2025) that promises to boost the Agriculture and Fishery Industry in the Philippines and aims to help the poor Filipino farmers and fishermen, but is there something happening that is good to the poor Filipino farmers and fishermen today?
