Philippines Greatest Athlete
Many youngsters today will think it is Manny Pacquio because of his winning streaks in boxing sports, but actually he is not.
This Pilipino Athlete s dubbed as the “Greatest Pilipino Athlete of All Time” and “Athlete of the Century” and even makes a name on the World’s Guinness Book of Records. Moreover, this Pilipino Athlete was rewarded a highest recognition for his sports achievements by three Philippine presidents. These Philippine presidents that recognize his excellence were late former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos who awarded him the “Presidential Medal of Merit”, while ex-axed Philippine president Joseph “Erap” Estrada awarded him the “Philippine Legion of Honor”, and the recent former Philippine President Ms. Gloria Arroyo awarded him the “Order of Lakandula”.
The Pilipino athlete I am referring to is none other than the six times World Cup Bowling Champion – Rafael “Paeng” Nepomuceno – since 1976, and continues to bring pride and honor to the Philippines in line of bowling sports up until now.
Actually, he is the first man in the world to win the very first World Cup in the world and even at young age which puts him into the Guinness Book of Records, and called him the title “International Bowling Athlete of the Millennium”
The Philippine Sports Association has credited his great contributions in Philippine Sports and gave him the Hall of Fame award.
Thus, before Manny Pacquio there was Paeng Nepomuceno and he will continue to be him and be recognized the best Pilipino athlete of all time and the Philippines Greatest Athlete.
