The Philippines is Not a Scary Place..Hehe

Just like Mindanao Philippines or should I say with bad reports and news which include largely the Mindanao region of the Philippines that besets the entire Philippines like too much politicking, reports of corrupt government officials, natural calamities, etc. the Philippines still remains the most safest place to live in the world with its balance weather condition, low-cost of living for foreigners, caring and hospital people, good medical facilities, natural attractions and beach places, good for business investment, no death penalty, though the Philippine is a predominantly Christian religion it still respect other religions or one is free to live by one’s personal beliefs, it is a democratic country, low crime rates so far and it should be, and the Philippines is in tune with what is the latest happenings in the world or have progressing civilization.

City Highways in the Philippines

This report was said release through a foreign survey group, and if this is true then it could be a good news for the Philippines but though this kind of reports is not yet published, the Philippine has still of course good points that every Filipino must be proud of their country just what I enumerate above about some good stuffs in the Philippines despite of some bad news and activities going on compare to other countries that are really dangerous to live in because of high crime rates, too much poverty, anarchy, and bad weather condition.

So despite of the negative things happening in our country, let us count our blessings and be thankful about it. For money is not the only thing which makes a man happy, is not it? (We all know that the Philippines is not actually a financially rich country)

Expect The Expected and Unexpected

What lays beyond the horizon this 2011 for Pinas? Consulting a fortuneteller or a psychic or an astrologer will not exactly cast away the dim and darkness rather just pure intelligent guessing wherein anyone can do, right?; if your eyes are wide open to what is happening around the Philippines; awareness sheds light.

However, let me poke your curiosity of what to expect this year 2011 in the Philippines and leave you with the reactions: “huh? Ah! Hmm…Oh! Ows? Duh! Nah”, or whatever.

1. More natural calamities as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast caused by the La Nina phenomenon. Actually, this is already happening at Visayas and Mindanao region of the Philippines at the start of the year. It’s nature’s surprise New Year bash for the Philippines. “Bashing through the floods…and all the field were gone…people crying all the way…” Oh nature! Flashfloods and landslides took control of the land mass of the affected regions in the Philippines; so far the total number of deaths is not yet beyond the neck contrary to the floods that has already been beyond the neck.

2. More unresolved political cases similar to the case of Ampatuans and the fugitive Panfilo Lacson for Dacer-Corbito case, as well as more political indictment and slandering and propagandas; and politically motivated crimes.

3. Manila Water upgrade of its sewage-drainage system that will ensure to minimize water shortage last year. This 2011,the Manila Water plans to complete its four more facilities into its sewer-drainage system that will help keep the rivers of Metro Manila Philippines clean and free from water pollutants or from being contaminated.

4. More new gadgets to come to allure the tech-gadget lover Pinoys wherein last year the top zeitgeist list on gadget and technology category which most Filipinos search of is the Apple iPad. Gadgets that are on the road this 2011 are tablet PC and Android cell phones.

5. Still lukewarm presence and success of Original Pilipino musics due to the domination of international singing stars like Tylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Katie Perry ,and et.al on Filipino record bars that has the most sales or mostly brought by Pinoy music lovers. However, the edge Charice Pempengco, Willie Revillame and Jovit Valdavino got in terms of sales and popularity is not far to propel the Original Filipino musics on hot top but only if they produce original Filipino composed songs like what Mr. WillieRevillame’s album is composed, than just reviving international hit songs and sang songs composed by international song-composer.

6. Retail business and “GoNegosyo” advocacies will still very “UP” for business-minded Pinoys this year with a greener and environment-friendly business concepts and ideas. Already established business companies will continue to fuse green concept in their respective businesses to serve better and healthier business undertakings and services.

7. More Sports achievements or winnings like what the Philippine sports have accomplished last year such as the winnings of Engelberto “Biboy” Rivera at Bowling World Cup in Toulon France, Nonito Donaire Jr., Brian Viloria, and Manny Pacquiao in boxing sports disciplines, and the Asian Games winners.

8. Fresh new comers and coming-of-age former child stars again will refresh and brighten up the Philippine TVTube on their starring TV programs just like what have happened last year by the success of the like of Empress Schuck and Erich Gonzales whose careers where resuscitated into stardom and become seemingly fresh stars again in the Philippine TVTube. It is also expected to have more stars switching channels activities by known and famous stars that will join other TV networks.

9. Most Filipinos will be inclined more to use and consume herbal and natural products for health-conscious Pinoys as it was in the previous due to awareness that naturals are more safe, effective, nutritious or healthy and economical.

10. More expectations again lingers regarding PNoy’s promise of “change to progress” ot come into full reality and not just an empty promises if he is really different among the former Philippine presidents and not “Trapo”; and another sets of “Kapalpakan” or “Palakpakan” on his administration? We will soon see.

11. Petty and big crimes will still of course not out of track and not out of the limelight and media attention because crimes have become common and normal activities in a country. But let us hope it would be more minimize into lesser percentage.

12. More surprises and unexpected happenings beyond what we could imagine and thought of, let us just stay tuned in the Philippines.

These are plausibly expected to happen in the Philippines this year 2011 aside from the unexpected things and scenarios which we could not predict or anticipate beyond the horizon but however, at least we have some compass of what to expect this year 2011. Anyway, everything that cannot be seen that will happen unexpectedly depends on a Being above us.

The climate of the Philippines is a tropical wet maritime climate dominated by a rainy season, dry season and a cool season that dominates on November to mid-February.
The summer monsoon in the Philippines brings heavy rains from May to October. The so-called winter monsoons bring cooler and drier air from December to February.

Certain places like Manila and most lowland areas are hot and dusty from March to May. Monsoon rains although hard and drenching are not normally associated with high waves and strong winds. The reason why the Philippines have a slightly bizarre climate is because it is geographically located at the typhoon belt and the country suffers an annual onslaught and dangerous storms from July to October.
An average of 6 to 7 tropical cyclones hit the Philippines per year. Some are very strong causing vast devastations some are not.

There are 4 categorizations of typhoons in the Philippines according to PAGASA.
1. Tropical Depressions
2. Tropical Storms
3. Typhoons
4. Super Typhoons

In 1991 tropical storm Thelma, killed thousands of people from itís resultant flooding, in 2006 tropical storm Milenyo did the same and recently last September of 2009 typhoon Ondoy did the very same.

The Philippines has abundant source of natural resources in areas such as agriculture, natural beauty and minerals.
The Philippines has fertile lands, diverse flora and fauna, extensive coastlines and rich mineral deposits. Thereís a wide variety of vegetation, different varieties of fruit bearing trees and fishes and seafood. Filipinos living in rural areas rely on mostly natural resources. They eat and cultivate their own plants and vegetables because it is easy to do so with fertile lands.

Endemic species in the Philippines includes the Tamaraw (Bubalus Mindorensis) or also known as Mindoro Dwarf Buffalo which is classified as critically endangered. And the Tarsier (Haplorrhine Primates), which are local sensations, that tourists from all over the world are very much interested with.

The Philippines lack of predators with the exception of snakes. Because lions, tigers and the likes are can only be found in zoos. Snakes such as pythons, cobras and birds of prey such as the national bird known as the Philippine Eagle, are found in some parts of the Philippines. Other native animals include the Palm Civet Cat, the Mouse Deer, the Visayan Warty Pig and several species of bats.

The national flag of the Philippines is composed of 4 colors; red, blue, white and yellow. It has equal bands of blue and red, with a white equilateral triangle based at the hoist side.

In the center of the triangle is a yellow sun with 8 primary rays, each containing 3 individual rays and at each corner of the triangle is a 5-pointed yellow star.

The flag is displayed with the blue field on top, in times of peace and at times the red field on top in times of war.

The 2 fundamental colors of the Philippine flag are royal blue and scarlet red.

The meanings of the colors of the Philippine national flag are as follows:
The white triangle stands for equality and fraternity, the blue field for peace, trust and justice, and the red field for patriotism and valor.

The 8 primary rays of the sun represent the 8 provinces which declared themselves in state of war as soon as the first revolt was initiated. The 8 provinces are Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Laguna and Batangas.
The 3 stars represent the 3 major geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

There are also a few flag protocols in the Philippines. The flag must be flown at half mast as a sign of mourning. Like a death of a president or a former president, historical figures and anyone that is recognized and declared by the Philippine government.
