Despite Philippines ‘bet for the recently concluded Ms. Universe 2011 pageant held at Brazil have won a spot on the top five or was included on the top five finalist; still Filipinos resent the failure of Ms. Shamcey Supsup to won the coveted crown as the new Ms. Universe 2011 at the Ms. Universe 2011 pageant. For Ms.Shamcey Supsup’s top high votes on the online voting have given many Filipinos great expectation that Ms. Supsup could be the next new Ms. Universe but things have not happen as expected and Ms. Supsup just got a 2nd lower position on the top five instead, that is 3rd runner-up only.
Thus, the Filipinos cast a doubt that there is something amiss on the pageant and much even more when Ms. Angola who have black complexion won the crown wherein she didn’t have much high ratings on the online votes.
Thus also, some speculate that the fishy thing is somewhat political on its essence that influences the decision of the judges. However, some says, it is the answer of Ms. Shamcey Supsup that shapes her fate on the pageant which is more plausible reason to be reckon to why she miss the crown despite she is the top online favorite candidate.
The question asked by the pageant judge and actress Ms. Vivica A. Fox that whether Ms. Supsup would change her religious beliefs to be able to marry the man she loves and why is somewhat non-metaphrastic question which Ms. Supsup interpret the question literally.
Pageant judge and actress Ms. Vivica A. Fox question simply connotes that if Ms.Supsup could do anything for the one she loves using religion as an instance which Ms. Supsup failed to comprehend, perhaps because of the tension of the pageant.
Her answer was a shocking selfish implied “No” in correlation to the real meaning of the question. Thus, it sends a bad message to the world that she is a person that can Not love truly and selflessly but kind of selfish person in terms of love and religiously fanatical in terms of religious beliefs.
Her answer should be: “Yes, because religion is irrelevant in loving a person truly..”
Therefore, she has a wrong non-smarty answer which gave her a bad impression from other pageant judges. Thus, she misses the top crown and landed only third among the top five. For the pageant is not only a pageant of physical beauty but also of brains and personality.
Police in the Philippines has been on the seat of controversies nowadays; from police brutality into police/military hazing into AFP’s alleged graft and corruption, now recently, the Philippine National Police (PNP) have discovered so-called ghost retirees in their department that receives retiree pensions which consequently drain the police department of 1 billion funds due to it, according to the report.
According to PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz, there are 2,150 pensioners that claimed to be spouses of a deceased police men and women which he found dubious and could be part of an inside syndicate activity within the department.
Yes, the PNP have recently found that the pensioners uploaded on their database were fake pensioners which were uploaded by a dismissed PNP policeman Marlon Reyes which the PNP police are now on full alert on hunting this dismissed PNP policeman.
Senior Supt. Rufino Manere, PRBS director, said that Marlon Reyes was able to encode fake entries on their database when Marlon Reyes was assigned then to the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) before he was dismissed on service in 2008.
They have tracked his handwriting on 530 suspected falsified index card records of pensioner’s accounts on their database and have already deleted 1,000 fake entries encoded on their database.
Marlon Reyes alleged fake PNP pensioners syndicate was discovered last July 20, 2011 when 30 women were caught having a fake pensioner’s ID while claiming a pension checks.
PNoy’s Anti-Poor Program?
Despite the Aquino administration effort to beautify its Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Program on the public that its implementation will benefit many Filipinos especially the poor ones, its main agenda stinks and smells selfish increasement of wealth of the capitalists in the Philippines whether Rich Filipino Businessmen or Rich Foreign Investors, rather than benefiting the poor sectors in the Philippines, financially, among those organizations who support and advocates the welfare of the poor in the Philippines especially the Urban Poor Resource Center of the Philippines, Inc. (UPRCP).And moreover, these pro-poor organizations tagged PNoy’s Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) programs as an “anti-poor” and “pro-capitalist” program that will just wipe out the urban poor sector within and outside Metro Manila.
According to Urban Poor Resource Center of the Philippines, Inc.(UPRCP),at least 360,000 poor families will face eviction and will experience dark future under Aquino administration once PNoy’s Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) programs will be implemented and this is already happening on the continuous demolition jobs happening on poor areas in the Philippines. PNoy’s Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) programs as well as PNoy’s other economic policies, according to pro-poor organization favors NOT the poor sector in the Philippines but rather PNoy’s economic policies are inclined more to give favor and help Big Businesses, Landlords and foreign capitalists in the Philippines instead.
This is obviously not new since the Aquino family is an Oligarch that seeks to protect selfishly their own family owned businesses and properties and wealth in the Philippines yet hypocritically showing to the public eye that they are pro-poor.
The poor sector of the Philippines have always been duped by a lying politicians when they covet for a government seat in the Philippine government during election times by promising and showing they are pro-poor. And the poor sector in the Philippines never learns because some poor were not inclined to gain knowledge and wisdom to depend and protect themselves from being exploited by the rich ones and knowledgeable ones whether a traditional politician or a traditionally religious person or group, but just satisfied to have bread and water on their table.
Some traditional politicians uses sweet promises and cold cash to allure the poor sectors to vote and support them on their selfish pursuit, while traditional rich religious people uses religion and god and the fear of hell to allure the poor sector to donate their money.
This is how the poor sector in the Philippine has always been exploited by those who have authority, power, wealth and knowledge in the Philippines.

First Filipino to Be Caught In the Act
For the sake of ignorant Filipinos, there is a law in the Philippines that protects the welfare of animals from human cruelty and has equivalent punishment for the violators of this law. This law is the Republic Act 8485 or the Animal Welfare Act. This Philippines law was made against Filipinos who do not know how to respect animals in the society who show heartlessness and cruelty to them or who do criminal acts toward the lowly animals.
Actually, there are multitude unsung cases of animal cruelties in the Philippines but was not brought into persecution and public punishment because of lack of solid evidences to indict and convict the violators, but recently, an ignorant University of the Philippines (UP) student arrogantly and ignorantly boast how he kill heartlessly a cat on the campus and reveals that he is “Cat-Serial Killer” and have killed many cats in the pasts. His blog entries at multiply.com regarding his brutal killing of the innocent cat (according to him he jumped suddenly the cat on the cat’s torso and the cat cough blood and die instantly) was certified and testified by some witness on the campus which eventually lead himself to be caught of authorities for violating the Animal Welfare Act. He was made to pay 2,000 pesos and sentenced to do a two month volunteer work at the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

Joseph Carlo Candare
His own bragging confession of his animal cruelty and witnesses for his brutal killing of cat has leaded him to be caught and be the very first Filipino to suffer under such law. He is Joseph Carlo Candare; a second year student of UP National Institute of Physics.
The authorities said that, this should serve a lesson for Filipino animal haters out there to respect our fellow creatures. Yes, it should be and parents should teach their children not only to love fellow humans but also to love and respect lowly animals because they are here also on earth to live and enjoy their lives which the creator has given to them and they are fellow brothers and sisters in creation.
It is obvious that the parents of Joseph Carlo Candare never taught their son to respect other living beings other than fellow human and never taught their son to be a loving and sober person, for on the blog of Joseph Carlo Candare, he shows ”psychosis” and “sadistic” attitude or somewhat mentally ill.
His Blog Entries
“This isn’t the first time I’ve killed a cat but this time it’s different. It didn’t occur to me back then that the cat had a leash. So I think somebody owns it,”
“…….It feels good when your beating it (a cat) up but you suddenly feel something strange when it turns off permanently. That’s how I feel right now. And maybe for the next days. Dang, am I a cat serial killer?”
Unfortunately, he already deleted his own blog because of the shame he himself have incurred to himself and to his parents. His parents even beg not to sensationalize the issue on the mainstream media.
“..Nobody ever stopped me when assaulting cats..” This arrogant claim of Joseph Carlo Candare that no one have ever stopped him from killing cats is to be blame for majority of Cat-hating Filipinos or because most Filipinos in the Philippines are Cat haters or animal haters and only few are animal lovers and would prefer dogs because cats robbed their viands and they only love dogs because it is not they love the dogs but the usefulness of the dog to be a house guard. What an animal cruelty!
But thanks to animal lover minorities who have great compassion and concern for such growing Filipino animal cruelty that is left unchecked and uncorrected. These minorities are the ones responsible for the creation of the Republic Act 8485 or the Animal Welfare Act.
Dressing Up Like a Model?
Can overhauling the physical looks and image of Filipino policemen bring back their dignity and trust of the public against the recent mar and stain brought by Police brutality scandals and abuse-of-authority controversy? Or does changing one’s uniforms and hairdo and enhancing one’s physical appearance could erase the controversies surrounding and affecting the Philippine police and bring back again the public trust that was lost?

Pa-Pogi Effect?
Dressing up like a fashion model is the idea of Makati city Philippines for its Law enforcers or policemen in order retrieved the lost good image the Philippine police have lost due to recent police scandals and controversies, according to a report. The Makati city Philippines is buying the idea that if “…they look good and presentable, they easily earn the respect of the motorists [public]…” to boost the morale of its police forces against the bad image being cast recently on the Philippine policemen (and women). Starting this month of April, the Makati city government has been sending its police forces batch by batch on a one day course about personality enhancement hosted by John Robert Powers ( a prestigious training center in the Philippines) to improve the image of their policemen and gave them a public charm.
There is nothing wrong if Makati city wants to improve the physical image of its police forces, but changing wardrobe and hairdo will not hide the fact and reality that Philippine police officers has been doing a nasty police acts such as abuse of authority and brutal handling of their captives; and will not cleanse the police forces from the scandals and controversies it is involved with. Actually, what is needed to change and improve is not the physical image rather the police system and trainings of police officers regarding their true duty – that is to protect the people and not to harm or not to be cause of dread and fear and woes in the public.
Looks can be deceitful for it could hide the true colors.
Pinas Gay on Gays
How far the Philippines could tolerate and respect homosexuality within its territory though it is predominantly Catholic and thirdly Islamic in religion? It is as far as it will for the first time will host the Mr. Gay World 2011 finals at Club Mwah in Mandaluyong city Philippines sponsored by Mr. Gay World Philippines.
The Philippines will be the first Asian countries to host an international gay pageant which makes the Philippines and Filipinos really a very hospitable and tolerable Asian race compare to their Asian counterpart that have an autocratic rule and discriminative against homosexuals.

Mr.Gay World 2011
The Mr. Gay World pageant is also in partnership with Department of Health on spreading awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDS disease among Filipino homosexuals and to be responsible in their sex lives.
The dominant Catholic Church, though inwardly they resist and against homosexuality (though, hypocritically their priests are sometimes closet gays with secret lovers) could not resist outwardly loud this international gay pageant for if they do so they will look bad and disrespectful and hypocrites.
However, it is good that the Philippines really practice democracy or is not harsh but gay (light and happy) on gays on its homosexual population. This is a good points and an example of respect for all kinds of people whoever they may be, that its Asian counterparts should follow.
Mr. Gay World will be held on March 13, 2011.
Mr. Marc Ernest Biala is the Philippines bet for this gay pageant.

Filipino Dignitaries on America
It seems to be that America is the second home of most Filipinos wherein the number of Filipino immigrants settling on the American land is not handful to be measured. Thus, the blood of Filipinos already conquering the American races through gaining dignitary positions on the American land is indeed surprising such as Brigadier General Cary Chun who is said to be the highest ranking Filipino general in the United States Air Force who heads all the Department of Defense Space Forces of the Unites States; judge Lilian Lim who said to be the first Filipina judge in the United States;Ms. Velma Veloria who said to be the first Filipino-American who become a Washington state legislature; Mr. Rey Pagtakhan said to be the first Filipino-Canadian Parliament member; Ms.Josie Natori a Filipina fashion designer not only known in America but also in the world; and many other Filipinos who gain a dignified position on the American land.
“The number of Filipino immigrants in the United States tripled between 1980 and 2006, from 501,440 to 1.6 million, making them the second largest immigrant group in the United States after Mexican immigrants and ahead of the Chinese, Indian, and Vietnamese foreign born……There were 1.6 million foreign born from the Philippines residing in the United States in 2006. The 1960 census counted 104,843 Filipino immigrants, a number that increased 15.6 times to 1,638,413 Filipino immigrants in 2006. The Filipino born were the second-largest foreign-born group in the United States in 2006 after immigrants from Mexico…..” —Migration Information Source
If since 2006, there are already millions of Filipino immigrants in the United States, what more today or this current year wherein brand new Filipino achievers were arising into one of America’s dignitaries. There are many of them which are not reported on the mainstream media in the Philippines but just later on discovered when they make noise or controversies around the world. The recent is Ms. Charice Pempengco‘s success.
Now aside from Ms. Charice Pempengco who has gain respect as an entertainment artist in the United States, recently another Filipino have gain such position in America, who has become the first Filipino to become a president of Seton Hall University in New Jersey (a Catholic University in America). He is Mr. Amado Gabriel Esteban, a Philippine born Filipino that got the highest position in an American Catholic University wherein only priests of the university are voted for the position. It is another brand new dignitary position an immigrant Filipino received on a foreign land and it do not end there but continue counting which make us wonder how come America become the benchmark of international success of most Filipinos but on other countries we never heard any dignitary success but shame actually most especially on Singapore where most Filipinos received death penalty for the sins they, I guess did not commit but was only frame up on Singapore.
The recent population of Filipino immigrants has become 1.7 million from being 1.6 million as the Migration Information Source says :
“April 2010
The United States is home to about 1.7 million Filipino immigrants, making them the second-largest immigrant group in the United States after Mexican immigrants. The Filipino immigrant population grew rapidly during the 1970s and 1980s and has continued to grow (although at a slightly slower pace) since then. In addition, the United States is home to about 1.4 million native-born US citizens who claim Filipino ancestry. Heavily concentrated in the western United States, the Filipino born account for almost half of all immigrants in Hawaii …” — Migration Information Source
The Philippines still remains the second source of foreign immigrants in the United States after Mexico.
Awarding Filipinos Abroad
Whenever Filipinos leave their homeland or the Philippines to find greener Pasteur abroad, they do not leave actually the Philippines rather they took the Philippines together with them in their journeys abroad by showing and displaying their “pagka-Pilipino” among the foreigners they mingled abroad. Some become successful, some don’t.
But to those who make it abroad and makes the Filipino races shine, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is quick to say “Thank You” to them by awarding them the BPInoy Awards which the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) have conceptualized to give credits to those Filipinos who brings great pride to the Philippine in their successful journey abroad; which the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) do it yearly.

BPInoy Awards
Last year 2010,the Bank of the Philippine Island (BPI) have awarded two successful international Filipinos, namely,(1) Ms. Charice Pempengco for her very successful career as an international entertainer abroad, and (2) Dr. Manuel Cacdac, the founder and chair of Hydrocephalus Foundation of the Philippines, for giving free hydrocephalus surgical operation to many marginalized communities here and abroad.
“Through the BPInoy Awards, we are creating an avenue for Filipinos all over the world to connect, inspire and to celebrate distinct nationalistic pride in evrymen.BPI recognizes our deserving countrymen whose stories attest to the world that we, Filipinos, are globally competitive” –BPI VP Teresita Tan.
PNP Police – “Palo Ng Palo” Police?
In order for a police to be truly policemen or women, one must know how to police himself or herself, lest he or she will abuse the authority that is granted to him or her; in short, a true police should be not only physically fit and well but also spiritually or mentally fit and well in order to do his or her duty well. But how come, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP) that last year 2010, there are 2,165 cases of police brutality complained, if the Philippine National Police (PNP) of the Philippines rightly recruits and train a would-be police? Yes, actually the Philippine National Police (PNP) admitted that they lack and lapsed in recruiting and training properly their cadets or would-be police and a failure to discipline those abusive ranking policemen. Yes, we are already there, but the question now, is why? This only means that the training course they trained their policemen is still barbaric in style and not yet intelligently advanced morally and spiritually. They might have an advanced technology on policing activities but what about their spiritual training how to handle the authority and power that will be given to them? Do they have training on this matter? I bet none, because as we all know the military and police training only concentrate on Physical strength and discipline and only a “fear factor” submissive style to honor and respect those who are in authority or higher rank.

Philippine National Police (PNP)
Moreover, the “sin and punish” style of morally disciplining a policemen is a barbaric and cruel style which the would be policemen do also imposed to those whom they caught as criminals or law-breakers, thus police brutality and cruelty arise because of the morally perverted concept of “once sinned, one is a bad/evil person that should be punished” or “once sinned, one should be punished”.
This moral and spiritual perversity not only lingers on the training camps and minds of cadets and policemen and women but also on organized religious sectors which influences people to buy and lived with this kind of inhumane, barbaric and robotic moral concept. This concept took away the “human-loving and understanding side” but replaces it with “hard-heartedness discipline” which this “once sinned, one should be punished” concept. It is a robotic and puppet like moral concept that took away the heart but replaces it with machine heart manipulated by auto-mechanical run process, similar to a robot.
A culture without a true human heart is a damaged and perishable culture whose eventualities are chaos and destruction.
But sad to say, most people in the world subscribe their minds to this heartless moral concept due to influenced of the organized religions that sown viruses minutely to humans contrary to what they preach about the “goody” tidings.
This concept should be eliminated and replace by a very humane concept together with the advanced technology we humans have invented, to eliminate police brutality.
Though the Philippine National Police (PNP) boasted that they have now upgraded their leadership and police training course “ “A three-strike policy shall be implemented against the immediate police supervisors or commanders of erring police personnel who commit grave misconduct”; and have vowed to do a complete background check of all police recruits (because the major cases of police brutality were done by police rookies); the concept I mention should be corrected for the sake that if they can’t find a psychologically and morally fir recruits (because, truly it is hard to determine such in the recruiting process, though there are many tests, for there are current cases of police brutality that were done by rookies who have passed such kind of test in the recruiting and training process) at least they could control their acts by instilling a right mindset and concept for their policing activity.
