The Era of Remakes
Rehashing a classic film and TV programs just to gain money from it is now the current era on the Philippine mainstream Television and now starting to creep into the mainstream Philippine movies via GMA Films Production by their another remake film, entitled “Temptation Island”.
By the way, it is also the latter studio who restarted this remake activity on the mainstream Philippine Entertainment industry since its TV remake of the Mexican Telenovela “Marimar” into Pinoy version which gaye way to re-boost into great stardom the fading career then of Ms. Marian Rivera. However, rehashing a story and remaking it is not something new GMA network originally conceptualized, actually, remaking have already been in the Philippines (not only in the Philippines but the rest of the world have already been doing it)or in the Philippine Entertainment industry before GMA network got an idea to remake the “Remake and Rehashing activity”. GMA network just remake the remake.
Green Rose Pinoy Version
Since the success of Pinoy remake of “Marimar”; past film and TV programs remakes have become the new genre of entertaining Filipino public on Philippine TV. For not only past Mexican Telenovela has been revived and rehashed into something new and “Pinoy style”, but also Korean teleseries and past best TV programs have already gone through remaking .Moreover, the good thing about this remaking activity is that brand new stars and even oldie stars whose career is lukewarm has breathe brand new glow in the limelight like Ms. Marian Rivera.
So far, the best remakes in terms of category in my own opinion were:
(1) Marimar – on Mexican/Latin Telenovela remake
(2) Green Rose – on Korean/Asian teleseries remake
(3) Panday – on past Pinoy film remake
(4) Mara Clara – on past Pinoy TV program remake
Yes, it is exciting and thrilling to see one’s once favorite films and TV programs in a new dress, but this kind of prevailing genre in the Philippine television and now creeping on mainstream Philippine cinema if it let rule the current mainstream Philippine entertainment industry, the dying mainstream Philippine movies will sooner or later die eventually. For remaking another classic film is also the same also doing movies with repetitive and rehash storylines and plots; it comprised originality and creativity.
Thus, it is not surprising that the previous Urian Awards never included mainstream movies in their film nominees but rather they included and awarded the indie or independent films instead because Pinoy indie films are innovative ,fresh, creative and original and have progressive stories and not a mere remake or rehash one.
However, there is a mainstream Film studio that is quite exempted on remaking and rehashing past Pinoy Films, rather striving doing original mainstream high quality movies – the Star Cinema film production.
Coincidence or Predestined?
It is customary for us Filipinos to seek for premonitions when someone meets sudden death and as for the late teen actor AJ Perez death his parents reveals also. But there is more to it than mere “saying goodbye” premonitions, for it is indeed astounding that his death was somewhat predestined because of some instances which can never be considered as a mere coincidence that gave us a hint of his forthcoming death and the way he will die. These two premonitions reveals a pattern which was not given notice or attention to avert his kind of death (that is dying early on the limelight) and eventually save his young life from being entangled to this synchronized pattern of death.
Almost Identical Destiny; The Two Late actors(Rico and AJ)
The instances and premonitions, what some now found mysterious is first (1) his admiration for the late young actor Rico Yan who also die at the young age at the peak of his shining Philippine showbiz career wherein reports said that the late teen actor AJ Perez seek for Rico Yan’s large picture at ABS-CBN hall of stars in order to take pictures together with him; (2) second, is the lead role he have played on his last drama series “Sabel”.”Sabel” was a remake drama which was formerly played on the lead role AJ Perez played by a late young actor also at the early 80s who also die at the young age at the peak of his Philippine showbiz career, that is the late young actor Alfie Anido.
It is really surprising that it seems somewhat that the late teen actor AJ Perez have followed unknowingly the Showbiz footsteps of these two late young actors into their grave; and make us think that is it really possible that if we follow the steps that once have tread, we will also end up what the former travelers on the path end up with? Or it is really a predestined destiny and death? Or AJ Perez untimely death can be aborted if one just become circumspect of the showbiz path the unknowingly tread upon if this pattern has been quickly notice?
Furthermore, AJ Perez was born at the 17th of February and died also at the 17th of April and once 17 years old two months ago before he died at the 17th day of April. See there is a sequence or pattern, but not only AJ Perez but it have happened also to my late uncle. My late uncle was born at the 19th of July and died at the 19th of April and he started to be bedridden which leads him into his grave hours pass the 19th of March.
It is indeed scary to learn such pattern of death but anywhere you are; here in the Philippines or in other countries; coincidence or not, death comes like a thief in the night sometimes though we map its forthcoming and do something to abort it.
However, death could NOT surprise us or rob suddenly our precious life if we learn to be circumspect and always have the two word of caution in our pocket – “take care”
Has The “Christian God” Tested Her?
Philippine actress Ms. Pilar Pilapil describe her traumatic experience by being stab many times and thrown into the river to meet her death which she have survive only this month of April by a supposed carjacker, as an onslaught of the “Devil” against her reveals her religious belief that the “Devil” do really exist for her as she is a Born-Again Christian, though to some this “devil” being is just a mere imaginary Christian evil creature and it main role in Christianity and even on Islam faith is to antagonist and thwart all the Christian God’s plans and will and mess around human race and sometimes the Christian God uses this “Devil” being to test His followers like what happened to actress Ms. Pilar Pilapil if their faith on Him is strong or genuine.

Ms. Pilar Pilapil
However, though this is the perception of the actress, police officers still continue to investigate the real suspect(s) to what have happened to Ms. Pilar Pilapil in pertinent to carjacking cases that has been the previous talk of the town in the Philippines because of the gruesome back to back cases of carjacking killings.
Ms. Pilar Pilapil may not be right to some non-Christian people or non-religious people but she is right that “Evil” do exist in the society personified to every one of us who have the ability to do “evil” and be “Devil” and become a criminal if circumstances make us. For “evil” cannot be blame or could not refer to one creature only that has a deer horn, poisedon’ fork or have bat’s wings or stereotype to criminals or typecast to a person who do not do good to us or who is not kind to us, but “evil” could refer to all of us because it is part of our nature.
However, thanks god that actress Ms. Pilar Pilapil have survive such terrifying experience, else she be like the late actress Ms. Nida Blanca who was also stab to death on her own car but have not yet survived that will shock again the Philippine Entertainment Industry.
Dying Out Early From the Limelight
When arising young stars started to become shining luminaries on an Entertainment industry then suddenly supernova happens. It is indeed a rare event on a life of a star. It explodes and its brightness spread across then disappears.
This rare even has happened again into another young arising star on the Philippine entertainment industry; first it was the young and sweet Ms. Julie Vega, then the young and cutie Mr. Rico Yan, followed by the young starstruck winner Marky Cielo, and now the young teen cutie Mr. AJ Perez who shock his fans and Philippine Entertainment by his untimely death follow through this very sad trail.

AJ Perez
AJ Perez was announced “dead on arrival” around 12: 20 am at Rayos Valentin hospital in Paniqui, Tarlac where he was rushed after sustaining multiple head injuries caused by a van accident he was involved with last April 17, 2011 while asleep. The van is heading to Manila from Dagupan city to attend the afternoon Sunday musical variety show of ABS-CBN “ASAP Rocks” from Kapamilya Karavan activity he attended at Dagupan city.
As far as the report says, he is the only one who died on the accident while his father, two road managers and the driver of the van who was with him survive the accident. The reason he died because he was leaning on the side on the van where the Bus the van collided with hit the most. Thus he died sleeping or he died without knowing what have happened to him that is really for sure will bring traumatic shock on his soul.
It is very sad that this kind of accident and demise happened again to one of the shining and arising and young stars of the Philippine Entertainment industry. Shining In Out so early has been a scary and creeping phenomenon among the stars of the Philippine entertainment since ms. Julie Vega have started the trend.
Condolence to the Family of AJ Perez….

Ban for Christian Church Wedding
Why do some Filipino showbiz celebrities aspire for a grand and pompous Christian Church wedding for their wife-husband-to-be partner whereas they can do it privately and solemnly? Is it because they wanted to show-off or just get inspire with the fad of televised Christian Church wedding similar to other celebrity couples who have experience such marriage rites?
In case of Robin-Mariel Union, we already knew that they are already married privately, yet still aspire for a pompous Christian church wedding; why is it they covet such marriage rites whereas they are already married. Is their private marriage not valid? And does marrying in a Christian Church wedding rites made their marriage valid and official? What is the authority of the Catholic Christian church to make a union valid and official if it is only a religion; what about Muslim marriage rites or other religion’s marriage rites are they not valid and official?

Robin-Mariel private wedding ifugao way at Baguio city
We all know that Robin and Mariel do not have the same religion (Robin is a Muslim while Mariel is a Catholic Christian),so why do they attempt to cross the line between their two religions which the world already know are warring against one another, by marrying in a Catholic Christian wedding rites. Of course, the ever prideful Catholic Church will not allow them; which already have happened according to the reports. For the Catholic Church, especially the Catholic Church in the Philippines will be hurt or will offend their religious creed and rules because Robin is a solid Islam believer.
Of course, the celebrity couple was dismayed about the refusal of the Catholic Church to grant their marriage wish.
Circus Of The Circus Stars On Pinas
Circus as we all know is an old form of public entertainment the world have enjoyed before the birth of TV, radio, movies and internet into our consciousness about entertainment. It is a form of public entertainment with the combination of acrobatic stunts, beyond human normal stunts and activities and exotic and out-of-this world creatures and animal props. It is an old form of live entertainment that still have clamor on the public.
This June and July, the Philippines will witness a world-class circus performance at Rizal Park wherein the Filipinos will witness a combination of acrobatic stunts, circus drama and world-class choreography and circus music from the famous Quebec circus company – Cirque du Soleil, for the first time. The world-class circus presentation is entitled “Varekai”.

Varekai
Varekai is a circus story that tells the adventures of a young man that descended from the sky into the world searching for a place or realm called “Varekai”. Thus, the circus presentation that will be performed at Rizal Park this coming June and July is somewhat theater-like circus performances and presentation that is not yet seen on the Philippines by Filipinos on their homeland but can only be witness abroad or outside the Philippines.
Victim of Modern Day Popularity Scam
Yes, popularity today gives you a lot of money; the more you are popular the more of chances you benefit from it financially. This has become the selling points of internet scammers and frauds, by using the popularity of other being like popular celebrities or entity like Google and Yahoo and now Facebook just to get money from unsuspecting mass.
Recently, a young Filipino actor was victimized by an internet scammer introducing oneself to be an avid fan or supporter of him who request from this young Filipino actor to make him an official Facebook fan page to make his fans happy; this young Filipino actor agrees not knowing that this internet scammer will only use his name to sell anything to his fans saying these stuffs for sale comes from the young Filipino actor whereas in reality it do not come from the young Filipino actor. The worst is when the fans agreed and have paid through money transfer the items they bought from this internet scammer thinking it is comes from their idol, the items were not delivered. This has brought to the attention of the fans and to the young Filipino actor and has discovered he and his fans were victimized by an internet scammer.
The young Filipino actor who was victimized by the foul games on internet was Arron Villaflor. He was upset upon knowing that he become victimized by an internet scammer who introduced to him to be his fan or supporter who grant the fake fan favor yet this is what this fake fan have done to him.

Arron Villaflor
Arron Villaflor is the latest Philippine showbiz celebrity or the latest actor in the Philippines that has been victimized by internet scammers followed by Ms. Karylle who was, I thought last 2009 or last year was also used to deceive other unsuspecting internet users. Her pictures were used in an online dating site to be her whereas not which has victimized a lonely lovematch foreign guy on the online dating site.
Clone or Original?
TV5 back then promises that it would be very different Philippine TV network that will not imitate the two giant Philippine TV networks that mimics one another and clone one shows, but is TV5 channel 5 really fulfilling its promise back then or have just repeatedly break and disappoint the expectation of the Filipino viewers who craves for a very different Philippine TV viewing experience? However, despite there are some originals, lately the TV station has been filled with mimic shows to keep its TV ratings in close contact with the two giant Philippine TV networks; they now go “in the flow” and lose their originality.
Aside from mimic shows like musical variety shows, comedy sitcoms, new and journalism programs ,fantasy-series, Korean series, drama anthology, showbiz news and intrigues, cartoons, child shows and some others; which are just a mere copied conceptualized shows from the two giant Philippine TV networks,TV5 have also finally jump into another mimicry when it boast to reveal their very first drama series –“Babaeng Hampaslupa”- or teleserye that will be aired on their primetime slot which is also similar to what the two Philippine TV giant network is doing which makes us realized that truly primetime drama series on Philippine TV is a very lucrative TV shows wherein one TV network could profit a lot.

TV5
Where is now the originality promised by TV5 back then?
Moreover, it also mimic the tagging of one’s TV station similar to the two giant Philippine TV networks that tagged their TV stations, by tagging one’s TV station to be a “Kapatid” station in line with ABS-CBN channel 2 tagged itself to be a “Kapamilya” and GMA channel 7 to be “Kapuso’; another mimicry of TV5 that deviates from its promise back then. That never ends there its mimic activities; actually most of the TV5 pool of stars are just former stars of the two giant Philippine TV networks that either transferred voluntarily into their TV station or have been courted and imported by TV5 into their station which gave Filipino viewers a sense of feeling that TV5 could be an extension network or sister TV station of either ABS-CBN channel 2 or GMA channel 7 for the TV viewing ambience resemble ABS-CBN 2 and GMA 7.
But what about their TV show “Talentadong Pinoy” which is one of their top rating program, is it original or just another clone show? Actually, ”Talentadong Pinoy’ is also a copy cat show copied from the international talent shows with the same format, concept and style like “America’s Got Talent”, ”Britain’s Got Talent”, etc.(which ABS-CBN got franchise of it to make a Philippine version of it, that is “Pilipinas Got Talent”).Why don’t you check this out these foreign talent shows and compare to TV5’s “Talentadong Pinoy” show? They just change and altered some format to suit the Filipino needs but the theme and the concept of the foreign shows was still in this TV program of them. Moreover, what more disappointing to this TV5 show is they accused ABS-CBN channel 2 of copying their show whereas in reality they are the one who copied the concept and theme of the show from foreign talent shows. ABS-CBN just got a franchise of the original foreign talent show but them they don’t get a franchise but utterly copy the concept and theme.
Therefore, if TV5 will not stop mimicking other shows from other TV networks here and abroad and always importing stars and celebrities from other TV networks instead of creating of its own original conceptualized shows and breed its own home-grown stars, then TV5 will absolutely lose its identity and will not be really an alternative TV viewing TV network in the Philippines for Filipinos who demand and crave for truly fresh and brand new TV viewing experience in the Philippine TV but just a mere a copy cat TV station or a CLONE TV.
ABS-CBN Will Do It Again
Noontime show in the Philippines will never be out of phase of Philippine TV programming and will always be one of the immortal TV programs in the Philippine TV aside from news programs and drama series. For despite of some flops of other failed noontime shows, still brand new noontime shows sprouted like the phoenix bird from the axed or death of one. It never dies actually. Now a brand new noontime show is in the rise again from the axed or death of the former noontime show that didn’t make it to fly high on the ratings game.
From the No.1 noontime show maker in the Philippines –ABS-CBN TV network, that has created the successful noontime shows in the Philippines like Student Canteen, Eat Bulaga(co-produced then by TAPE company),MTB (Magandang Tanghali Bayan) and Wowowee and also the flop ones, the TV network promise to do again the success of the former successful noontime shows in their upcoming noontime show that will bring a brand new concept[?] and alternative viewing aside from the current reigning noontime show –Eat Bulaga in the Philippines.
A brand new noontime show that promises fresh alternative and success [?] that will make the noon time of every Filipino,a “happy yippee yehey” day that will make the Filipino noon time a bit more happier and alive.
Actually, the title of the upcoming noontime show is “Happy Yipee Yehey” that will premier this February 12,2011 consisting of Ms.Toni Gonzaga,Ms. Mariel Rodriquez, Mr. John Estrada, Mr. Randy Santiago, Ms. Melai Cantiveros of Pinoy Big Brother Doubleup top winner, Ms. Bianca Manalo, Bentong, Youtube star Jobert Austria, and according to Ms. Toni Gonzaga, Mr. Sam Milby is also included in the cast.

Cast of Happy Yipee Yehey
Though, the new noontime show promises to duplicate the former success of the old noontime shows that have already mark a name on the Philippine TV; will it make it as it promises and aims to be? Let’s See.
Romanticism on TV Hosting
Hooking TV co-hosts to be a romantic partner is like common practices among live TV shows in the Philippines that require hosting job to perk up the entire show, most especially on afternoon or noontime shows. The famous trio-hosts of the noontime TV show “Eat Bulaga” has known on Filipino public consciousness for such practices. Whenever, a new gorgeous lady that will co-hosts their noontime show, rumors will arise that this new babe on their show will be hook to have a romantic relationship with either one of the TV host like of Vic Sotto to Ms. Coney Reyes then and now with Ms. Pia Guanio which both end up into friends instead of marriage.
Recently, Vic Sotto’s seven-year relationship with Ms. Pia Guanio was reportedly ended which sparks controversy on the Philippine Showbiz industry with a big question – “Why?” But Mr. Vic Sotto and Ms. Pia Guanio are both tightlipped on the issue with Vic Sotto’s statement: “I cannot talk about it. Pia and I agreed that whatever happened, is happening and will happen between us in the future, we will just keep it to ourselves. If there’s something that we feel we need to share with our supporters, they will hear from us”. For it was reported that the two ex-couple were formerly living together at the house in Ayala Alabang Village which Vic Sotto himself have bought for Ms. Pia Guanio, then suddenly they split up.
Similarly, following the trails of the romanticism of the prime male hosts of “Eat Bulaga” to their female co-hosts is the ever controversial Mr. Willie Revillame who was reported to be courting his new female host at his show Willing Willie –Ms. Shalani Carla Soledad, however, it is not yet fully confirmed regarding their rumored romantic link.
Not only on the TV shows I mention happens the budding of romance between fellow hosts but also on some TV shows but the question is why some TV hosts develop a romance to one another and some other do not? Is it because they see each other every day that is why they develop it to one another? Is it closeness breeds romance whether one are both have same sexes? Perhaps, just like the closeness of the so-called “bromance” of TV host partners Luis Manzano and Billy Joe Crawford which develop closeness because of their TV hosting on a game show. Their kind of relationship that has developed from being partners on hosting the Game show is now branded as “bro-mance”? ehehe. But of course, the Philippine Showbiz industry do know that Luis Manzano and Billy Joe Crawford were not gay artists though they develop such called “bro-mance” from their TV hosting together in a Game show “Panahon Mo ito” and on some TV hostings. Their “bro-mance” was revealed on a previous Awards Night.

The Bromance of Luis(lucky) and Billy
Another TV hosting partners that rumored then to have a relationship is the TV hosts partnership of Ms. Amy Perez and the famous gay artists Mr. Roderick Paulate; their kind of relationship that has develop by hosting the noontime show MTB or Magandang Tanghali Bayan is called “platonic relationship” or ‘platonic romance”.
These are just handful of examples of romantic relationship that has developed through TV hosting a TV show in the Philippines whether what kind of sexual orientation the TV hosts have, which is really a mystery how some become romantically connected or attached to one another but just a TV hosting job and some TV hosts do not develop such closeness or romanticism to their fellow TV hosts but of course develop a friendly closeness but not romantic closeness.
Indeed by what I have discussed above, there is romance in hosting a TV show.
Oh,not to mention the romantic relationship of Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriquez that has developed through their hosting works at the show Wowowee and Pilipinas Win na Win.
